Lets see how Margarito looks vs Paez, if he impresses, then I'd make him a solid favorite to knockout Shane Mosley who I really wish would just stop. The latest interview with Mosley quotes him calling Margarito a "***** ass"........ ........that doesn't sound like Shane Mosley to me. Now Mosley is saying he'll only fight Margarito if they offered a "huge amount" of money and that he has a title shot opportunity that might be announced soon. atsch
Let's start a petition to get Mosley to agree to give Maromerito a payday (and chance to put a huge name on his record) if he beats Margarito. We can spam it all over Mosley's social media accounts until he relents.
As along as Margarito protect his eye well he still has chances. Its a shame that Pacquiao practically fractured the right side of his face. In boxing they call it getting your face caved in.
It was a whole bunch of punches to both the body and head, many of which Mosley was getting a lot of leverage by putting his whole body behind them. Mosley's "power-boxing" is like a "speedy slugger" style. He throws those winging right hands which he gets leverage behind. Margarito was blocking punches with his face that night. Against Cotto he was at least picking off and rolling back for some of them, and Cotto wasn't getting full leverage behind a lot of them since he was on the retreat. Margarito's defense was so terrible that night, there's actually one sequence at the end of the 3rd round where it looks like he rolled INTO Mosley's right hand. It was like he rolled the exact opposite direction of what he was supposed to do. I'd hadn't seen it in previous Margarito fights, but Mosley and later Pacquiao hurt him to the body. Margarito seemed to momentarily double over from the first winging right hook to the body that Mosley threw, and when he tried to have a brief rally in the 8th, Mosley went right back to the body and stopped his attack. Pacquiao hit Margo with everything in the kitchen sink, but up until the end of the 10th, the only time he was hurt was from a Pacquiao body shot. I don't know if it's something that he was always somewhat vulnerable to or if it came just over time later in his career. I didn't see other opponents land those type of hard body shots like Shane and Manny did, but it definitely played a part in Shane weakening Margo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTEgeOR7yvo http://youtu.be/wTEgeOR7yvo
