Cotto was manhandling Mosley when they fought. Miguel is very strong.

Agreed. Both Larry Merchant and Emanuel Steward talked openly about how much bigger and stronger Cotto was during the Mosley fight sitting ringside. True.

Mosley even said afterwards that he was surprised at how fast Cotto was and how strong his legs were.

I believe wants the full credit and a legitimate win by saying Margie stung him a few times.
His win is legitimate and impressive....however, Mosley need not embellish
Margie's punches on Sat. Mosley never appeared stunned or even stopped in his tracks one bit.

Have a look at the post fight press conference, Capitan. Mosley was asked about Margarito's power by the media, he was asked if he was hurt by the media. He didn't volunteer these remarks, these were responses. After beating the living daylights out of Margarito I don't think it's likely Mosley felt the need to lie or exaggerate. Also, if you watch the fight again it was clear on a several occasions that Mosley seemed to be stunned and/or hurt. Margarito didn't have alot of moments, but there were a few of them.

anyone that fights Margarito should be holding on the inside and going to the body. Anything different would be suicide

Huh :huh Mosley was clearly the stronger fighter between he and cotto which is why cotto got on his toes and stayed away from shane in the later half of the fight. Cotto is a strong puncher but he does not poses the physical strength of shane , shane also has a back round in wrestling at a high level .

I just saw the fight again and it honestly did not seem like the Margarito of old. He started backing down as early as the 1st round and I'm done hating on him. In the end I just ended up feeling bad for him the way he was getting rocked. Even though he was still out in his corner in round 8 he wanted to continue. He definitely is not the same fighter as he was before the Cotto fight. I mean I think Mosley beats Margarito just cause of the strategy and styles but Margarito definitely wasnt the same fighter we've seen as of late

Don't feel bad for him. I never had a problem with Margarita until he disrespect Paul Williams after their fight. Paul went to shake Margarita's hand in a gesture of good sportsmanship and Margarita acted like a punk and declined to shake Paul's hand. He's a poor sport. Absolutely no class. And with these recent developments I really don't like the guy. The hell with Margarita.

I find it strange that Mosley said that, considering that Margarito didn't have many moments, and I personally don't recall Mosley looking uncomfortable while mixing it up with Margarito, probably because he was doing most of the punching and clinching. I do recall, however, Cotto hitting Mosley a lot and Mosley really looking bothered by the punches. Either way, if Mosley volunteered to say that about Margarito, maybe he is just being honest about the whole thing and really did feel those few punches that Margarito got to land on him.

I agree, that's what I thought initially. But when I watched it again last night I saw what Mosley was talking about. Margarito caught him a few times. Watch the 7th round in particular.

I completely agree with you. In comparison to what we are used to seeing from Margarito, he looked fragile from round 1 when he ate Mosley's punch, he looked like he couldn't take it. A hint of it was him backing up. I know Mosley is strong, but I've never seen Margarito intimidated that way before, especially at the beginning of the fight. In example, if you look at the Paul Williams fight, by the way it started, I would have thought Margarito would have gotten more discouraged and would have been more intimidated by Paul's high output and style, but he didn't and just plowed through and got his damage in. Another example, look at the Cotto footage, the punches and body blows Margarito threw in the beginning, although a lot of punches weren't landing, they were thrown with much more viciousness behind them.

SSM was just being nice, Margo didn't stun or hurt him, Now Mayo landed a nice uppercut on SSM at the home depot center but Margo didn't have any moments, he just got brutalized.

Yeah the 7th round was when Margarito turned it up but he just didn't seem like himself

Margarito has been slowing down big time, for a long time. Ironically though, he threw some better leads against Mosley than he did in the Cotto fight. Overall I can see where you get this viewpoint from, however, even though I'd say that the Margarito who was getting his bell rung by Cotto looked almost identical to the one getting his bell rung by Mosley except for one major difference. Mosley landed a body shot that made Margarito's entire body completely dip within the first minute of the first round. He was hurt badly by that shot. Mosley's body work was a major factor from the beginning.
