Shane on his fight against Margarito -at the scene*

"If Margarito thinks he's the bigger puncher than I, he is delusional. I will definitely win this fight, especially with the type of fighter he is. He is going to end up getting knocked out because he'll come right at me and I'll catch him."

he very well could be right we cannot forget margarito is well aged himself if not the same age hes just as aged in ring wars..hes just as elderly in the damage he's had to take espessially even more because of his style so i would not be shocked one bit if margarito gets wacked

Shane does not have the power to knockout Margarito. He was a hell of a puncher at 135, but you have to be a special puncher at 147 to knockout a chin of Margarito's quality. If anybody doesn't see the final bell, it's Mosley.

Well, at least we have some good hype. This should be a real war because Shane won't be breaking out the track shoes.

If Mosley can still fight for 12 rounds, I believe he'll win, I don't think Margarito will be able to hurt him, the only way he will stop Mosley is if he gets tired the later rounds.

Yeah but you know what. Some fighters cannot take it to the body. I think Shane has some good power to the body which is almost better than his power to the head. If he can work Margarito as Antonio comes in and tries to wear him out, he could get some good results. He might be able to do something. But I doubt it. But that is the key I think the body punching for Shane since what else can he do? He has never been a great lateral boxer. He has been a fast handed guy who sort of wins fights with his fast hands on the inside. Remember how bodypunching slowed down Chavez in his first fight with Meldrick Taylor? Similar matchup here only that Mosley is on the downside, but Margarito is not Chavez either.

Completely agree in fact I've already stated to you last night that no welter can expect to beat Margo by hurting him. Shane's best chance as every other welter is to beat Margo is to outbox him for 12 rounds. Shane's too proud to fight that kind of fight and will undoubtedly at some point want to slug it out and exchange. That's when he'll meet his doom.

I guess I'm changing my tune a bit.

If I have ever ridiculed Margo for taking this fight, I will admit I am dead wrong. The more I think about it, the more I have to admit Shane is a Top 5. Will he KO Margo? I don't think so. But for Tony's sake he better not think Shane's strapping up his **** to take a dive for him.

    Look at this fight.

Shane is not as offensively potent as Cotto, but he's a veteran skilled boxer who knows how to stick and move. He also has comparable power, maybe not quite as strong as Cotto. But he has a 20 times better beard than Cotto. And he's a smarter fighter. This fight has the potential for a very good, hard-fought classic. Don't sleep on it.

Will be a good fight. Don't see Mosley KOing him though.

It's great to see Shane this confident, if he stops Margarito it'll have to come from n accumulation of punches.
