While I would be surprised if Mosley gets a knockout, I do agree that Margarito has far more mileage on him than most people currently realize. Margarito is on the fade. Mosley and Cotto may or may not expose this possibility, but it's there, regardless.

I think Margarito will reduce Mosely to a bloody pulp and retire him, not just in the fight, but in his career. Too much strength, volume, pressure, and grossly underrated power and defense. Box him for 12 rds? Good luck, I say, unless you're used to throwing 100+ punches and constantly being your bike for 12 straight rds, taking flurries of body punches and uppercuts in the process. If power punching Cotto couldn't slow him down, what makes anyone think 36 (or is it 37 now?) year old Shane can. People's main criticism of Tony is that he's slow and easy to hit and gives up his height. With his pressure fighting style of constant pressure and combination, he doesn't need to be fast like slick boxers and he gives up his height to bolster his defense, keeping his elbows in and low protecting his body while also protecting his head. He's picks off more headshots with his gloves than he gets credit but throw in his legendary chin and you got what he is, a beast. Good luck Shane, you're going to need it especially since you're not on the "Clear" anymore. IMO, for the exception of BHop's performance against Pavlik, GBP is coming apart at the seems. It will really be a perfect storm for them if Winky agrees to a fight with Kessler. Yikes!

If a completely shot mayorga can be beating Mosley going into the last round.... Margarito will win this fight no doubt.

that being said... I will wait to see how the cotto fight has effected margarito, he took a hell of a beating himself in that fight, not to mention the fact i think hes already on the downslide.

But Mosley gets way too fustrated way too easy, is not hard to hit, and wont be able to keep the pase of Margarito, wont be able to outbox him and cant hurt him,

imo.... Margarito easy UD, mosley is the one thats delusional.

shane one of my favs, but margo took cotto's best shots, and if he took cotto's or a better example, cintron's, it's safe to say he can take mosley's. is shane gonna land clean one's? sure, but it's when mosley starts taking a breather from either moving around too much or from knocking margo's head like a pinata margo will take advantage of that and make him pay and then shane will regret taking the fight. it's that little instant when he gets winded that margo will capitalize on and shane won't recover if survive as margo is a great finisher. shane still a hard hitter and might have a chance to outbox margo, but not knock him out. i think pw is the hardest hitting welter and he couldn't do it much less mosley

I really like SSM. He is an absolute boxing legend and a shoe-in for the HoF. But I think he is selling this fight by saying that he will KTFO AM. If he stands and trades with AM from the start, it will be a very interesting fight. Who has the best beard/power combination. Just remember, AM's chin is his greatest asset, so I can't see how SSM can stand and trade with AM, even though SSM has a good chin. I don't think SSM's game plan is standing and trading. SSM looked shot against Mayorga and I can't see him winning a decision against this beast by throwing 5 punches a round. Can he get an accumulation KO in a similar way? I doubt it.

To win SSM will have to either:
    1. Turn back the clock and show an hugely increased level of stamina to outbox AM, because I don't think he can stand in front of AM and get whacked for 12 rounds.
    2. Stand and trade until he KTFO AM

Are either of these scenarios possible? Watch SSM's fight with Mayorga.

I hope for a good fight and two boxers who walk away intact.

First and foremost don't let my posts in this thread fool you, I am not by any stretch of the imagination suggesting that Margo is unbeatable. PTP, Clottey, and Mayweather all would in my opinion give him a boxing lesson; obviously PTP already has and Clottey did so for 4 rounds. What I stated was that

. Considering that Margo was able to walk through Cintron shots without flinching, Mosley has virtually no chance of hurting that guy much less knocking him out. I've suggested many times that if Margo ever moved up in weight that he would no longer be considered an elite fighter because he would give up his physical advantages that make him what he is at 147.

very true. stamina will be key here. the best case scenerio for shane might be to stop margo on cuts, and focus more on that than going the distance. you know, put an elbow here and there even if a point is to be deducted would work wonders for mosley. i would hate to be shane facing a pissed off margarito tho

I agree with you. His advantage is a little like Hagler's at 160. He is totally comfortable at the weight and fully grown into it. That helps him utilize his physical strength like Hagler did and also helps the fighter gauge who punches hard and who doesn't. at the weight.

But when Shane gets going he gets going. He did it in the last round of the Mayorga fight. He is better skillwise than Margarito, I think this is his chance to pull it off.
