MANILA, Philippines – Former world champion “Sugar” Shane Mosley believes WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao’s punching power will be too much for challenger Juan Manuel Marquez.

Mosley, who fought Pacquiao at welterweight and lost, said the Filipino boxing champion has enough power to send Marquez crashing to the canvas.

“When Pacquiao catches him… if he catches him with a touch, then Marquez is going down,” he said in Fighthype.com.

Marquez has given Pacquiao a couple of competitive fights in lower weight classes.

But Mosley said Pacquiao at welterweight is a different animal.

Pacquiao knocked Mosley down in the 3rd round of their title fight last May. The Filipino eventually won a lopsided decision.

“Marquez said he's not going to run like Shane did and he's going to fight and all that other [expletive], so he's asking for it,” said Mosley.

“As far as punches are concerned, he just touches you and you're [expletive] bruised up. My whole face was bruised up and he really didn't hit me that much,” he added.

    -------------------------
Mosley is talking from experience. Marquez, better listen. Don't listen to your cocky trainer, Nacho.

Mosley us such a ****ing tool, I used to love this car, but he is sore loser, after he lost to May did go run his mouth about May fighting Ortiz? He needs to accept that he is old, and past prime already/

Mosley basically admits he ran to avoid getting knocked out by pac, I never thought shane would turn into that type.

Shane has to realize that Marquez isn't the same pedigree of fighter that he is and has 10x the heart.

Am I the only one sensing Mosley being slightly sarcastic, and cynical with his remarks, about Manny's power, like he has a hidden agenda, LOL at him saying if Manny caught him with a "touch" Marquez is going down.

He is definitely trying to say something, Pac fans are so blinded they can't see that Shane is talking sideways, he might as well not be secretive about what he has to say. It's obvious that he simply can't get over his shitty performance in that fight, everybody will always remember Shane for Balco, and running against Manny,

Well based on a lot of his comments post fights, it seems he thinks pac is on roids but cant say it because of his past and doesnt want to attack the man. He couldnt believe the power manny had.
I only blame mosley for his performance though, he should have fought.

...He doesn't want to get sued, lads. He wants to hint, to save face, casting doubt on his loss and excusing his fight, yet doesn't want to get sued like Oscar and Money.

We have heard that Mosley contacted the Mayweaters and said to them, that they should let him take the test :D That just showes me that mosley think Manny could be on "anything"....Because Mosley aint got no fairness, and is a caught cheater,he thinks Pacquiao is the same!!! FACT IS :mosley is OVER the hill, and then there is a big gab when your facing a VERY fast puncher like Pacquiao!! BUT he is clean,he KNOWS that if somebody knew he was cheating it would come out ruin his career and his name in congress.
HE is just so much better ATM...

Always been a big Mosley fan but its sad to see him pulling the "If I couldn't do it, its impossible," routine.

I agree, he was my favorite boxers; The Mosley of old, verses Wright, Forrest, even Vargas and Margarito had that rep of going out on his shield, and fearless.
It's weird that he switched the rep to more of a tactician, (good way of saying it, I guess.)
Anyway, he kept stating that he came to fight, but backpedaled more than a cornerback. It was weird to see.
I did like his honesty, that the gameplan wasn't really that effective, and really wasn't the plan at all.

In my eyes, I like this better than tweeting that ridiculous story about pac and and some dude giving him roids in the lockeroom in the Wildcard, days after he lost.

 That's quite a stretch. Sarcasm is hard to even see without watching an actual video of the conversation at least. Seems pretty strait forward to me. While it's typical for fighters to hype guys that beat them, in this case I think Shane is 100% correct. I think Pac at WW is a totally different animal and his record and performance since seems to back this up.

What WAS shocking about this was Mosley admitting he ran vs Pac.
