that was what I was thinking. martinez is 35/36. just like jmm, he started late or bloomed late unlike his contemporaries who age wise, were worn out earlier by the time their careers picked up.
didnt martinez and margo fight at 147 any way martinez reminds me of lennox lewis he is a late bloomer you cant put it on age fighters remind me of running backs its the miles on the legs not the yrs
yep, they fought. not sure at what weight, saw the fight and both, margo especially were skinny ass. possibly 140, not really sure and not a boxrec warrior too. margo won that fight btw.
It was at welterweight and yes both were skinny and green but Margo had far more experience and was pretty close to his current style already while Martinez was far removed from his. It's about as good a win for Margarito as Singsurat's KO of Pacquiao is. "Good name, but..." He would have been KTFO by Mosley back then (this was around the time of the 1st DLH fight) but again - it would have been an utterly nonsensical fight at the time. Mosley was a world champ; Martinez was nobody.
Martinez would beat the crap out of Mosley @ 154. Too much speed to deal with for Shane and he doesn't do great above 147 plus he looks like crap against very good/great boxer-types. Martinez is a boxer that would dance circles around him. The only way Shane could possibly win if he was facing a green Martinez.
