GBP's CEO, Richard Schaefer, has hinted that he's been trying hard to get an opponent for Mosley's return, and the name that keeps popping up is Mayorga. If Forrest/Mayorga 3 doesn't go through, I can see this fight happening, as neither guys have any plans for the immediate future.. can Mayorga still make 147? What do you think of this possible matchup? Does Shane have anything to gain from taking this fight? :huh

Go for it Shane! money 2 b made! Cintron is busy with Margarito. He
already beat Collazo. Cotto is busy with Gomez. Hmm...maybe Clottey
instead? Nah, actually is more accomplished than Joshua.

    Mayorga vs Mosley sounds excellent!

I don't think Mayorga can make 147 anymore. @154 (if he can make it, which I doub it) I take Mayorga over Mosley. The higher the weight ....the chances for Mosley to beat Mayo are less.

How would wild ass Mayorga beat Mosley? What makes you think Mayorga would do any better against Mosley than he did against Oscar?

Weight class. Mayorga would lose against Mosley at 147. At 154 Mayorga's chances increase, at 160 Mayorga beats Mosley.

Mayorga did not fight Oscar, Mayorga did not train as usual. He was there to take the money.....or whatever was there....Mayorga would have lost regardless.... Mayo and Mosley is a different fight.....

What makes you think they would fight at 160? As far as 154 is concerned, Mosley would win by KO. He would land a lot of shots and would be way too fast for such amateur. Mosley can still fight against the elite while Mayora has just made a name for himself by beating up Forrest and beating up a washed up Vargas, whom he couldn't even KO. Mayorga is nowhere near Mosley's league. This would be a brutal beatdown.

I wonder if Mosley will have to climb back to 154? His punch seems to have lost some power at 147. That, or Cotto's head is made of stone.

I never said that Mayorga is an elite fighter. I never said that they have to fight at 160.... I am just saying that a weight class higher means a lot.

I was trying to make a point...and that is that the higher the weight the chances for Mayorga increase. Do you disagree with that?

Shane is in line for a fight which could still test whether he still have it or not. As good as SSM still now, Mayorga is still a very tough guy who wouldn't be easily intimidated. Notice how he easily walked through against Piccirilo whom he knows have nothing to hurt him. He'll probably carry that same arrogance against SSM. And he's right. Shane has to use all his athleticism and speed to offset Mayorga's wild punches.

    SSM by comfortable decision.
