Bad fight imo for mayorga at this stage of his life... id rather see him fight more soft bodies... and what does this win do for mosley exactly? i mean its a good stay busy fight i suppose but thats all.... a win at this stage doesnt mean much until mayorga gets some more momentum..... imo
Exactly Shane fought a stronger and fresher Vargas twice and shut his eye closed and brutally KOed in the fights while Mayorga needed Vargas shaky legs to score him a couple flash KDs and barley win. Shane Mosley is world class and Mayorga isnt.
but to be fair... the second fight vargas was so drained he was done... first fight, props to shane... but the vargas mayorga fought was a lot better then the one shane fought that second time... and vargas would say that himself. Even shane noticed how much weaker vargas was in the second fight.... not that any of that really matters.... i dont see mayorga beating shane right now, id like to see him get some momentum.
GBP's CEO, Richard Schaefer, is trying hard to screw Mosley by suggesting Mayorga those many times... Mosley can't take Mayo even if it is for a tune-up at 154 because that means a huge step back in competition. Schaefer is not to provide Shane with wins and paydays but worthwile competition at 147 pounds even if it means at a much higher risk. At this point, there is only one logical and available opponent for him and that is Zab.
Id rather see Mosley vs. Judah but a match with Mayorga would be very fan-friendly. Highly doubt Mayorga would get to welterweight so maybe they'll have to meet at a catchweight of sorts. No matter where it happens its a fun fight that Mosley wins but Mayorga is no push over, even at this stage of his career. I think this fight makes a lot of sense for Mosley. Obviously it would make him a good payday. Mayorga is a name, and Mosley beating him would only help his markability. Lastly, its a winnable fight for Mosley. Beat Mayorga to set up a "superfight" later in the year. If Mosley is coming off an impressive win over Mayorga it only makes him a more desirable opponent for Mayweather, Oscar, Cotto,Hatton, etc. I hope the fight comes off. Mosley by decision if it does.
Who gives a ****? This logic worked real well when Mayorga said that he would beat DLH because he beat the man(Forrest) who beat the man(Mosley) who beat the man(DLH). So you can toss that comment out the window.
They could fight at 175 and Mosley would beat him still easy. Did you not see Mayorga struggle in his last fight with a guy that was so far gone he didn't have any legs going into round 1?
