I saw this over at Fighthype.com. According to Leonard Ellerbe they already have 10 million in tickets sold at the live gate. Take it for what its worth out of Ellerbe's mouth. But if this is true then it has already surpassed Pac-Cotto and Pac-Hatton in Live Gate revenue. So much for Mayweather and Mosley being able to generate money at the live gate. I am anticipating this fight to hit 12 millon at the live gate, 1.5 in PPV buys. I think it will end up being the 2nd biggest fightest non-heavyweight fight in boxing history behind Mayweather-De La Hoya.

Wait...10 million in LIVE gate? What venue can accomidate ten million people?
Don't you think Eberle meant be 10 million pay per view buys?

He meant it's made $10m so far in ticket sales. If so, very impressive, except that the tickets for this cost more than Pac-Cotto and that sold out almost immediately. So, not quite as impressive in real terms.

I think the PPVs will be over a million, but there's not the same excitement in the media as Pac-Cotto.

Ellerbe really got heaps of gay friends. :D

Seriously, the way how GBP and Floyd/Ellerbe been marketing this fight is very effective.

U STOOPID! :nut ever heard of SUPPLY AND DEMAND? if Arum could've charged more for pac-cotto tix, he would've. the promoters for PBF-SSM knew the tix for the fight would be in high demand, so they priced them higher. believe me, if the prices were the same as pac-cotto, they would've sold out in 1/2 the time.

That's what I was thinking. I know I aint in the US at the moment. But there's far more hype to this one over here compared to Pac vs Cotto. It will take a lot to beat this event in 2010.

It's fine, they're holding it in the shadow generated by Floyd's ego, plenty of room for everyone...

Mayweather-Oscar had 19 mil in live gate.

If there's reports for this live gate being over there we can be sure it'll outsell Mayweather's previous super fight.

who cares about all that bs seriously ?

I think the fight will be the usual running backwards boring ass decision !!!

thats what really matters and its unfortunate for all these numbers and big talk that this result is the same **** again and again:deal
