Hard to argue with that when its 100% right in front of you, now the boots on the other foot Shane wants a payday but he was unwilling to give FMJ his 1st breakthrough ppv whilst knowing that Floyd`s talents deserved to be ppv a long time before (remember, Floyd-Gatti was FMJs 1st ppv at age 28, thats not right surely when you look at the inferior boxers that were regulars on ppv at the time)..... I personally hope FMJ does fight Mosely, Shane IS a good guy & it WOULD BE a great fight but Shane should have accepted Mayweather`s challenge at that time no doubt.

They think they can diminish the 12-0 masterclass that Mayweather put on the excellent Marquez by dropping him an extra weight, I used to dislike Mayweather myself but its pointless because I always enjoyed his fights in the ring, I appreciate boxing & I know art when I see it.
Some people dont give credit where its due & even if FMJ beats SSM, Pac & Cotto, there will be more than a few that wont give him his due as a top tier ATG, I guarantee that.

    Here is the truth folks.

Floyd is a great fighter. One of the best, if not the best of this era.

Mosley is a great fighter as well. Both are hall of famers. As of today, Floyd rates just a tad over Mosley historically. And the only reason why he is not rated much higher is because of his lack of competition, and his cherry picking.

Floyd needs to fight guys like Mosley and not make excuses. Mosley is currently reconized as the top welterweight and he has resume comparable to Floyd's.

Some Floyd fans here grab these videos of Floyd calling out Shane etc. and Shane turning down Floyd. First off the one where Floyd called out Shane, that was right after Floyd beat Henry Bruceles and Shane had just lost back to back fights with Winky Wright. Who the hell wanted to see a 140 pound Mayweather fight Mosley who at that time was not champion anymore?

In 2006, I will admit Shane should have taken the fight with Mayweather. But he didn't feel he had proper time to prepare. 3 months to come down from 154 to 147 to fight Floyd. It wasn't as if he said I will not fight you. It was basically like I will fight you just give me a couple more months. Plus add in the Oscar factor, who knows what would have happened had Shane tried to secure the fight.

And lets go back to 1999 when people say Shane ducked Floyd. That is horse crap. Shane had the option to move up to 147 to make 6 plus Million dollars to fight Oscar De La Hoya. Or he could have fought Floyd Mayweater for 2 million. Plus add in the fact Mosley could no longer make the 135 pound limit. So this my friends was not going to happen.

But right now would be a great time for it to happen. But it WON'T. Floyd will not fight Shane Mosley. There are doubts in his mind that he can beat Mosley. I think Floyd can beat Mosley, but it would be competitive. But I believe Floyd is afraid to lose his '0' and he only wants to take perceived low risk-high reward fights. Instead of High-risk-High Reward fights. In Floyd's Mind he perceives Pacquiao as an easier fight then Mosley. Is it an easier fight, I don't think so, but Im not Floyd.

My question to Floyd fans is, Why don't you want to see your fighter fight Shane Mosley? Isn't it a fight he can win? Isn't it an interesting fight? Why do you keep justifying Floyd not testing himself? Floyd is brilliant, but he needs to be tested. Analogy. How do we know who the best surgeons are in the world, answer is because they are the ones who do the most complicated and most difficult surgeries. Don't we want the top fighters to take the toughest fights.

And could you imagine a year of 2010 with a March fight with Shane Mosley then a possible fight with Manny Pacquiao in the Fall. It would be a year to remember in boxing. Yet Floyd and his fans keep making excuses why Floyd won't fight Shane. And you will keep buying talking points of Leonard Ellerbe and company.

I don't think Floyd should be ashamed, more like embarrased. But I agree with everything else Mosley said.

"After I beat my opponent, Rodel Mayol, I'm going for Floyd Mayweather Jr. next, since he only wants to fight guys smaller than him"

    - Ivan Calderon before Calderon/Mayol 1.

I personally hope Pac loses to Cotto so that THAT fight can be made. Cotto beat shane so why should Shane get to fight the top dog? All Margorito aside....

you mean to tell me he calls Shane out ealier in Shanes career...only to be scared now that he may lose when shane is on the tail end of his career?

NO matter how you cut it Shane mr i fight everyone did not jump up and say yea i want mayweahter like he is all of a sudden doing now.....Floyd did what shane is doing now so fukk no he shouldnt get no pitty and its obsurd that you feel now when Mayweather is the sash cow of the two he should now do what Mosley wants...thats not even remotely unbiased.

you keep saying Floyds fans are making excuses but we arent we are stating facts.....Mosley had his opportunity to fight Floyd who was not the cash cow and was just hungry however be it for whatever reason or excuse...oscar, Tooth, Vaccation...pick one it comes from his mouth.....no man in the world who is fighting a brutal sport puts aside MONEY and hig OWN LEGACY for another man....thats bullshyt and should not be excused!

Shane is trying like heck to build it up into a real money (no pun)-maker, but pbf seems content to play the stuck-up hard to get girl...:nut

Calderon eats his way up to 140lbs on a diet of KFC and crispy creme in an ultimate showdown labelled as "Undefeated" by GBP. The "fight of the century" begins with Calderon looking like a mini goodyear blimp while him and Floyd run circles around each other without throwing a punch.

An accidental clash of heads occurs in the 5th round and Calderon pulls off the technical decision giving PBF his first loss as a professional. Floyd is shocked and complains incessantly during the post-fight interview that Calderon won't stand still and fight him like a man and further accuses the judges and HBO of bias while threatening to retire. Mayweather gets booed out of the arena while bawling his eyes out while Ellerbe attempts to comfort him by lovingly stroking Floyd and whispering into his ear.

I think people are making a legitimate point when they refer to Marquez as a Featherweight rather than a Lightweight. He's had two fights at 135lbs, against fairly good competition, and both fights were a bit of a struggle. I think our perception of Diaz was heightened before he was out-boxed by The Magic Man, and Casamayor, although once a great talent, was at the end of his career. Good wins regardless, but Marquez looked a lot less hittable as a Featherweight to me. I take nothing away from his victories.

The reason Floyd has so many critics is partly due to his ability to win fights, partly to do with his ability to talk ****, but most of all because he hasn't fought Manny Pacquiao, Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosley, among others. You show me a video of Mayweather calling out Mosley a few years back? I think we can safely say Shane had legitimate reasons for not taking the fight considering he has one of the most impressive resumes this side of Oscar De La Hoya. What would you say Floyd's record would be if he had fought Forrest twice, Winky twice, and prime version of Oscar De La Hoya? Pause and reflect for a moment.

As much as you like Mayweather Jr, and you do indeed Bill Butcher, we still need to keep the victory in perspective. It was 12-0 against a 36 year old blown up Super Featherweight. That's exactly what it was. As impressive as Floyd looked, and how he achieved such a feat after a two year lay off can not be diminished. He looked great. But he didn't pose a shut out against a Welterweight or even a Junior Welterweight. I'd be willing to bet you that the majority of top 10 rated Welterweights in the world would have not only beat that version of Marquez, but stopped him in the process.

    What do you think, Bill?

P.S I gave the third round to Marquez. 11-1.

The point of what I wrote was to have them fight now....It is a big money fight. A winnable fight for Money. The excuses need to stop. Mosley had them in 2006. Mayweather has them now. 2 wrongs don't make a right. Just make the fight happen. It would be a great match-up. Out of the guys out there I think Mosley(and maybe Pacquiao) present the most challenges for Money. I just don't think Floyd will step up to the plate.

I understand where your coming from, but what pisses me off about it, and im sure makes Floyd mad too is the fact that Mosley avoided this fight for awhile now. Mosley now knows that he is towards the end of his career and this is a huge pay day for him. So win or lose he can pretty much retire of the money he makes for this fight.

On the other hand I want so see Floyd beat a top Welterweight (cotto, mosley) just so that he can silence critics..
