He doesn't owe them anything but it would've been big of him to suck it up and fight for roughly the same exact amount he fought for last time against Cano. He owes nobody a thing, and is free to choose selfishly. We are in turn free to call it a selfish move. He didn't do anything wrong, but he missed an opportunity to do something right and set a good example.
i think the promotion should be catching hell. they are the ones defaulting. as for the 300K pay.....this guy is a lot more dangerous than Cano thus he doesnt want to fight him for the same amount.....
When I saw the headline that the fight was off I thought the Aussies had caught Mosely juicing AGAIN!!!1ROFL
good news to me that was a crappy fight for shane anyways i think. shane needs to be in the mix at 147. fighting guys like karass, madiana, senchenko and marquez. some of those fights i would favor mosley in even at this point in his career. guys at 154 are to big for mosley i think, oh cotto needs to be at 147 as well. cotto to style would serve him well at 147.
Looks like Jeff Fenech will be the big looser in this. He put up about half a million of his own money that he won't get back.
A lot of people think Mundine had a good chance of actually beating shane, and im sure shane knows hes in danger of getting an L here as well (its in Australia) I don't blame Mosley one bit for not going through with this fight given the money fallout. He only took this fight because it was supposed to be a million dollar payday.
Who's to say the promoter would have paid the undercard fighters? When a promoter makes a promise its on him to deliver. Its not Mosley's responsiblity in the least to save the promotion. Looks like the promoters in this event are crooks, what happened to Fenech's 500k he put up???
