Hang on a second. Its not acceptable for Pac to fight Martinez because he would have to move up in weight but it is acceptable to have Marquez move up two weight divisions to fight Pac. Think before you type my friend.

First REAL boxing fans knew Clottey was not defeating Pac. Clottey needs you to be right in front of him and disappears for long periods of time in the fight. But Clottey wasn't beat up or destroyed by Pac. Pac out pointed him but never landed anything of signifigance.

The Cotto fight was competitive for a while.

And the Margo fight despite what people say was competitive. I didn't give Margo more than 2 rounds. Round 6 in which he Manny to the body and Rd 7 in which Manny just got on his bicycle. Manny was on his bicycle for Rd 8 also but Margo didn't land anything of note and Manny did. But even with Manny winning a wide unanimous decision. It was clear that he had to work for it.

Name another fighter that forced Manny to simply get on his bike for 2 straight rounds like Manny did in the 7th and 8th? Now were any of the fights competitive like JMM was with Manny at 126lb or 130lb? NO.

But isn't true that JMM as a featherweight is a much better fighter than Cotto, Clottey, and Margo at welter? The answer is yes.

And JMM was a much better fighter as a featherweight than Shane is as a welter "CURRENTLY". So no one is saying it will be competitive on that level.

    It just wont be:

    Hatton - KTFO

    DLH - quiting on stool.

Cotto - getting knocked down several times and running away late.

Clottey - offering no offense whatsoever.

Margo - Taking a sustained beating over 12 rounds.

But I will be sure to put you down as someone who believes without a doubt it will be something like one of the above.

Mosley is going to beat Pacquaio. The result will have a great impact on the sport.
    1. No Mayweather/Pacquao/
    2. With Mayweather's domanting win over Mosley last May there will be little or no Demand for Mayweather/Maosey 2. Thus leaving boxing without the super fight.

No one said Pac CANNOT move up in weight to fight Martinez. I am just not requiring him to. As a welter champ he is required to take on and beat the top welters. Not the top middleweights.

And I am equally NOT requiring JMM to move up to face Manny. JMM can for all I care continue to fight at lightweight as long as he fights all the top lightweights.

But what JMM fans like yourself don't realize, is Manny is NOT obligated to move down in weight to face JMM. If JMM wants a fight with the welterweight champ then move up and get it.

I wouldn't advise it but it is his choice not mine.

Shane won't win......but what gets me is you people and your "Super Fights".

You are always looking for some single Messiah. Boxing will move on and thrive if they don't fight.

I hope they do. It should be a decent fight but the sport will be fine if they don't.

If I gave that impression I am sorry. You can have important fights that are exciting too. Like I said Pac is basically fighting all of the top welters of the past 5 -10 years.

I am sure he will get to Berto if Berto doesn't lose. As far as Mayweather, that's up to him.

But lets say you get that Mayweather fight.........then what? Who does he fight then?

    Bradley, Khan,...who?

I guarantee, you would then see everyone COMPLAINING that the sport is dying and the proof is, that our biggest fighter (either PBF or Pac whichever won) doesn't have any big names to fight.

It is just complaints and more complaints from boxing fans.

This fight could be competitive for Mosley if he's lucky. I don't see why they would give Mosley the decision if it's close though. Everyone involved save Mosley stands to make more money if emmanuel wins.

Not lucky......"prepared". Luck goes to the prepared.

Use your feet a little, tie up, throw right hands to the body (ala Morales) when he jumps in. Walk him to the ropes, crowd and lean on him. Eat up time and don't let the more active fighter be active.

If you just throw punches, you will shoot your wad, become exhausted and get KO'd.

Good read OP, agree with a lot of what you're saying here and can relate to your frustrations. Forums are awash with mind-numbing moaning and bitching about everything and anything, it is annoying no end. Hope this is a good fight but I think the pace will get to Shane and depending on how much success he gets early then he could find himself in trouble down the stretch ....

Have you read Mosley's most recent interviews? He wants to make emmanuel taste his power early.:nut

Be sure to do that. It will end with Nazim calling for an end between rounds. My official prediction is Pacquiao RTD 10.

I'll be sure to add you to the massive list of people who thought the same thing about Clottey and Margarito.

One more random thing; you do a hardcore breakdown of the importance and significance of the fight... How do you feel about it being the third time in six fights Pacquiao is facing someone whom Mayweather wiped out over 12 months prior? That's an awful lot of shadowing and chasing, considering most people consider Pac to be P4P #1. Also considering that besides the Cotto fight, they are his three biggest in terms of public notoriety.

I appreciate and respect your analysis, but I disagree. I think Shane gets boxed for 3 or 4 rounds then beaten brutally and eventually stopped. He's simply too old.

He should make him taste it a little in each round. I just mean in order to be competitive you have to MANAGE the round with intelligence.

I think it helps that Shane knows Manny can hurt him, that he has to be weary of Manny's power too.

I also think it helps that he has no personal animosity towards Manny.....its just competition. And I think that will make a huge difference in Shane's RELAXATION.

I hope Shane can make it to the decision. He thinks this fight won't go the distance.
