On topic, Mosley has other options at Welter so it's not like he's stuck and is forced to take this or nothing. Cotto openly stated that if his fight with Pac doesn't happen then a Mosley rematch is open, Margarito rematch, Berto or Clottey. I know a Pacquiao fight makes the most money, a Cotto rematch makes good money too and is far safer than moving down in weight at 37.

This is a stupid thread , you can naver win by losing , specially if at this late stage in his career he takes a one sided beating @140 the momentum is lost then , Mosley should now look to fight @147 from now until the end of his career , he should ignore Pacquiao and look to some of the other elite fighters @147 as there is plenty of them !!!!!!!

Mosley is following JMM's example of giving most advantages to the more popular opponent just to land in a big fight... Next thing we hear, Mosley is willing to accept a 20% purse split share...

I misquoted , Cotto 2 and Mayweather Jr would be the only elite fighter options @147 .

Other top tier fighters @ 147 would include :

    Berto , Clottey , Margarito 2 (in time) .

But lets eliminate Mayweather because he is Pacquiao bound that leaves 1 box office option and 3 big fight options , not every fighter has these luxury's !!!!!!!

Honestly i think Mosley makes the weight just fine ....the guy trains everyday even when not fighting so cutting weight was never a hard thing for him

I doubt it . . . he went up straight to 147 lbs from 135 lbs in 1999 and went up . . . up to 154. At 37 yrs of age . . . he can probably make weight but definitely he'll be affected and won't be that competitive as he is now at 147.

If Shane is willing to fight @ 140lbs..
I'll give dude the benefit of the doubt.

Let's not forget Pac in '09 is arguably at his best @ 140lbs.
Mosley want's to challenge the Pacman @ his best.
(That and this was the only way he would be considered...lol)

I agree. Plus, Shane has always kept himself in better shape than Oscar.

Cotto, Williams ( yes he is an elite imo but of course Mosley won't take chances cause he knows Williams will beat him up)

Lol come on man. How would the doctors know that Mosley can go down to 140 pounds safe? I bet Oscar talk to the doctors too before he agree to fight at 147 pounds vs Pacquiao but we all know that was Oscar huge mistake in which he was clearly weight drain.

Roach and Pacquiao act like they don't know that this is only tainting Pacquiao's legacy. He won't get full credit for Oscar or Mosley if this fight comes off. It's not fun looking at a resume with big names but all the big names were either old, old and weight-drained or punch drunk defenseless brawlers. Fighting Cotto or Mayweather would be the only fights he would get full credit for. Minus the catchweights of course.

I do not want this fight for Pac.

I think Mosley is very dangerous even at 140.

And most importantly, Pac will never get his due credit if he beats Mosley.

    So **** it.
