After watching another episode of fight camp 360 and listing to Shane speak, I was surprised to notice Shane slurring his speech, and just showing the early symptoms of punch drunkiness. Has anyone every made the same observation?

People have pointed that out, yes. But Shane has never really been a great Public speaker, so...

That's not the point. You could be a terrible public speaker but that has nothing to do with signs of being punch drunk.

Anyway, when I heard Mosley talking before the Mayweather fight, he sounded pretty bad, so I made a thread about, what I think, are the early signs of being punch drunk. He was slurring his words far more than he ever did in his prime and it doesn't seem to have improved since then. Sad to see this happening to a guy I've followed for a long time.

Shane is NOT slurring his words. If you watch him in interviews with Steve Kim and Elle Sechbach or anything one on one where he is comfortable he speaks fine.

This **** was stupid when you put it up before and it is stupid now.

I think he has a very very mild case of it, and I do not think it will get much worse. I dont think his mind has slowed down at all and i think he speech is only slightly behind. Talk to the average Idiot on the street and they sound ten times worse.

He's never been had a great command of speech. Even when he was younger, with the way he annunciates, he always sounded like he was slightly garbling his words.

im worried about shanes health in the pac fight, its realistic to assume he will take a vicious beating and he isdelusional enough to keep on fighting, thus being messed up in 10 years.

It's a scary thought but also a reality in this sport. Sadly Shane is one of the guys who (had he handled his personal affairs a little better) could have walked away from the sport with a fair bit of money and a HOF career. If anything I hope that he gets knocked out quickly as opposed to taking a prolonged and vicious beating.

Unfortunately - Hatton aside - Manny hasn't shown that kind of one punch knock out power at 147, so it looks like it will be a long night for Mosely.

Yes, Shane is starting to show sings of pugilistic dementia. He sounds like he has marbles in his mouth. It'll only be worse on May 8th.

I was very worried about morales as well. I hope he can have one great win and then retire, eventhough he isnt old like mosley he has been in many wars so thats one guy that deserves his retirement and happy life because of what he gave to boxing. I dont like mosley getting this shot at pac but I hope he doesnt get injured or damaged because of it.

How is Shane not walking away from the game with a fair bit of money? After his divorce, Shane still fought Margarito, Mayweather and now is fighting Manny. Thats a solid 13-16 million dollars I would guess.

besides that I dont get why people always say shane needs money, he should be rich from all his fights, even if he gives up 50% he is still very rich, its not like he is in the gutter begging for some quarters because of it.

Not making a comment on Shane but...

Life is a balance sheet (money in/out) not a pile of money. 99% of Average Joes have watched a million dollars pass through their hands. If you make $25k (no raises) from age 20 until 65 (45 years) exactly $1,125,000 will pass through your hands. After everybody skims off a cut (bills/taxes), living, and a person blows the rest, what do you think you will have to show for it in the end? Not much.

An average Boxing career lasts how many years? The BEST career last how long? At the elite level how many years? A mortgage lasts for 30 years. Doesn't take long to see where that story is heading. Most people are hamsters on wheels spinning and going nowhere. Bigger hamsters just get on bigger wheels. Problem is that most people find out too late that the bigger wheel is MUCH harder to keep spinning.

I wish Shane and his family the best.
