But they'll charge Katsidis for sanctioning fees to defend his INTERIM belt against only WBO contenders. Ain't that a *****?

Boxing's sitting pretty now, but wait until UFC starts their deal with HBO. The advertisement and endorsement money has to go somewhere, especially when UFC is able to pay their fighters better. And it will slowly eat at boxing promoters and sanctioning bodies alike until there will be no pie left. Greedy motherf--kers.

And nothing will make me wanna puke like Dana White declaring victory over a sport that created HIM!

Belts mean nothing anymore to the casual fans that use to only watch championship fights because of them. Hopefully more big named boxers will do the same as Mosley.

Dammm i was hopping that mosley put in the line the belt because the winner of the fight was olbigated, or maybe Floyd was obligated to fight the winner.

If that happened for sure then I can assume that either Shane should have put the WBC WW interim Belt on the line or that Jose Sulaiman is working things out so that Floyd may get the fights he likes most in the short future with no other major impediment such as Mosley... Atlas is right, we (should) be charging but then nobody did it, not even Shane, MoneyMayweather gets away with it once again... Dreadful!

Why the hell would anyone want the interim belt anyway? If both belts were on the line, the winner would need to vacate one of them anyway because of the timing of mandatories, so why even bother with the fake interim belt?

what do you guys think Molsey's reasons were for not puting that belt on the line?
I think this is a CONSPIRACY against Cotto by GBP inc.
Now according to Jose Superman, he could have defend that belt vs Cotto in a Unification bout. I think him & Oscar aswell as UGF had a meeting of the minds and decided not to put the belt up cause if he loses the belt to Cotto, he(Cotto) can pressure UGF to fight him or have UGF get stripped of the belt and thus making Cotto full-time WBC Champ. Now UGF knows that he can relax & dodge Cotto without the fear of losing his belt.
This fvck up! i thought Interm Titles couldnt be defended in Unification bouts but I guess the WBC Interm Title can be.

For a well established, popular fighter, an interim belt is no big deal. But for a lesser known fighter with limited appeal, having an interim belt at least keeps you in line for other fights (and paydays) down the line. I guess that's the attraction.

I agree with the majority of posters here that the interim belts are just a way for the ABC's to charge santioning fees and rake in more cash for themselves.

Does that make WBC's Sulaiman a..."Stripper?"

Why would he pay sanctioning fee's on a belt that means nothing? When he beats Cotto and Floyd beats Hatton the WBC still wouldn't mandate a fight between the two, so he would just be pissing his money away.
