After watching last night and reviewing the careers of Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, Felix Trinidad, Shane Mosley, and Oscar De La Hoya. While they were are all great fight fighters and Hall of Famers. They never truly were as consistent at the top of the sport to be considered among all time greats, they all had decisive losses in their primes. The are definitely a cut below Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. Still great, but not among the immortals.

They were all fighting each other in their prime, genious. Hence the losses.

Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr are the best two fighters among the list, but the other fighters were great also. They are all immortals. Barrera and Morales will never be forgotten thanks to their trilogy, and De La Hoya, Mosley, and Trinidad were all involved in memorable fights against prime opposition, fights which will be revisited over and over. I think Pacquiao take can take great pride in knowing that he had those memorable wars, and can still consider himself to have had a greater more accomplished career than that of Floyd.

If Manny and Floyd fight, 1 of them would have a decisive lose in his prime, would he cease to meet your criteria for great? What if they fought a few times and both shared the wins?

    Not so fast there.

Pac and FLoyd are definitely the top of the welters right now but that is only because the current crop of top welters was weak in comparison to previous best Welter class(DLH, Trinidad, Prime Mosley, Quartey, etc).

The fact that a 38 year old was considered the top of that class and that is only cause he had a great performance against Margarito-who most in here consider a "punching bag"-should tell you everything!
