I started a thread on this a while back, it's funny you should bring it up again as I was just thinking about it. If you watch Mosley's fight with Oscar he does an excellent job at neutrializing Oscar's hook and even switched over to a southpaw stance on occasion. I think Mosley's fast hands and feet, excellent combination punching, tough chin and reflexes would enable him to take a hard fought decision. Tito would probably have most success with his jab.
Hell of a fight if you ask me. To me this is a pick em fight. If Mosley makes it a boxing match I believe he would win a close decision. If they start to slug I would have to give the edge to Tito. I see both of them comming off the canvas atleast once. Great fight :good
Mosley has no head movement and always gets into exchanges in ALL of his fights.... aka he gets ktfo by prime tito
If Mosley had not lost to Winky, that fight was allegedly on the horizon. I think Trinidad would have won, purely because Mosley's power boxing style would make it a firefight, and we know who had the hardest left hook in the business at that time.
Shane was (and still is) a great fighter, but he was never a stick and move kind of guy, he was slick, quick, and explosive, but not to great defending, which you have to be to in order to beat Trinidad in his prime. I could see this fight in a similar way that Trinidad-Vargas played out, but with out the early knock downs or late stoppage. I could defenitly see Mosley scoring on Trinidad early and often, and making him miss with his tricky movement, but as the first two rounds pass on, Trinidad begins to land his jab more often, and the right hand, i think they really mix it up in a better fight than Mosley-De La Hoya, but with Trinidad getting a tough well fought decision, i dont think Mosley really hurts Felix, but i do think Trinidad's punches will have the better effect through out the fight giving Trinidad the nod, like i said, something like the Trinidad-Vargas fight in the middle rounds were they were both scoring, going toe2toe in a smart way.
i don't know about tito KOing mosley. Mosley is one of toughest fighters ever and has not even lose by KO yet. This fight is tough 50-50 imo
Just cant see Tito stopping him. But I think he boxes him with his power. Mosley isnt/wasnt that skilled a fighter in the technical sense, he masks this through his amazing physical gifts and strength. I think Mosley was beast at lightweight, in the same way that Tito was a beast at welter. Felix would be to big and powerful for Mosley to bully him around and to skilled for Shane to overwhelm him with speed. Great fight though.
I see what your saying in a sense. Although I dont' agree with your assessment on skill. I understand that many define skill in different ways such as some will say that Roy Jones actually is limited skill wise but got away with it due to his pure physical and athletic gifts. I think thats complete bullocks, to say that Mosley wasn't that skilled a fighter is a brave statement IMHO. he might not be textbook but his skill is tremendous. Tito on the other hand was skilled but very textbook/robotic. Mosley could do/get away with more than Trinidad could which is why I think skill wise Mosley>Trinidad. If Shane was lacking in skill Cotto would have walked through Mosley due to the faded physical gifts and that I believe Cotto is the stronger of the two. Personally I feel Cotto and Trinidad are very very similar. In other words when Mosley and Cotto fought I think Athletically/strength advantage Cotto skillset advantage Mosley which is the reason why I think it was such a close fight. Now I no comparing Cotto to Trinidad doesn't mean much but just something to go off
