Somebody being such a fan of "cheato illegal hand wraps Trinidad" and talking about Mosley and Roids is a little stretching it don't you think. Don't throw rocks if you live in a glass house brah :good
Tito knocks Shane Mosley out and give Shane his first KO loss of his career. Tito breaks him down ... uses his jab ... followed with some left hook, and right hands ... I think Mosley has a good chin and good speed but isn't the best boxer ... not good enough to box Tito ... I can see Shane electing to trade with Tito and making a huge mistake in doing so. Tito's speed and boxing skill were more evident at 147 and he uses his superior skill and power to break down Shane.
Tito's not exactly the blueprint to pure boxing either. Nothing wrong with your opinion though. I also would give Shane an advantage in speed also. Tito definitly had more power than Shane but Shane has very very sturdy wiskers. I think if anybody gets stopped it would be Tito (don't think it would happen though). Look at this way Vargas gave Tito a helluva fight and Shane is much better at everything than Vargas. I agree with your opinion on if Shane decides to trade but I disagree about Shane not good enough to box Tito. Great fight nonetheless and I would have a very very difficult time picking a winner. OBTW fitzgeraldz RJJ>Sweat pea> FMJ....... just had to do it :good
Agree!! I find it funny that someone that likes a known cheater to call somebody else a cheater.... Illegal hand wraps >>>steriods
The first Vargas fight was a good performance put on by Fernando ... he was winning on one or two cards at the time of the stoppage ... he was doing a good job of stalking Shane and hitting him with power punches. Vargas at the time he fought Shane had already been through 2 KO losses, an eating disorder, and severe back problems. When Vargas fought Tito, he was in his prime and his skill/physical attributes were at their peak. Tito was a good boxer at 147 and showed that he had boxing skills when he fought against RJJ earlier this year. Tito just didn't have the power to compete, but his boxing skills are there. Tito was also fast at 147 ... we're talking about one of the best WW titlist in WW history and he set records for his sanctioning body in title defense against some top notch competition. Shane who's fast ... hasn't shown that he can out box someone ... Shane has a good beard, but Tito is a harder puncher than Forrest at WW and Forrest knocked Shane down and had him hurt a couple of times during their first fight. Ohh by the way PBF is the greatest fighter of the last 20 years ... 2) RJJ 3) Sweet Pea 4) Julio Cesar Chavez
There's no denying Tito as a WW truely dominant in his prime. I see what your saying about Vargas but if you wanna look at it like that look at what they did with Hoya also. Both had very close wins over Hoya (some feel Hoya was robbed against Tito same as Shane 2) If Shane has the tools to beat Hoya in the same fashion Tito did there's no reason not to believe that Shane in Tito wouldn't be competitive as hell. I know its dumb to analyse it like that but just for hindsight. Also about Forrest he had Shanes number, tall lanky boxer with a dominant jab, enough power and good defense. I think Forrest could have beat Tito also. Another great fight and another great argument for another day :good
I can't help but feel Mosley's being a little underrated here. He's smarter and more skilled than many are giving him credit. In the first Hoya fight he was staying away from Hoya at first until he was confident he could take Oscar's power, and even then he didn't get sloppy, he kept Oscar from landing much of anything too effective or damaging and kept tagging him with counter rights over Hoya's hook and jab.
This would have been a great fight. Prime for prime, I would have to go with Trinidad by hard fought decision. Trinidad was a beast at 147.
Mosley was tamed by Vernon Forrest who is a skilled puncher but in terms of power he is average at best. Tito 5'11 one of the best punchers period, too big too strong for Mosley Mosley ISN'T a defensive fighter folks! Burn that through your thick skulls!!! Tito lost to defensive styles and what makes you think Mosley wouldn't get hyped up and exchange with Trinidad? Tito went 12 rounds with heavier punchers at 154 and 160lbs! What the hell makes you think Mosley could crack at 147lbs In all honesty Mosley was a beast at 130s but he wasn't deadly at 147. Mosley would get macho with Tito and get caught bad, I mean real bad and get KO'd late. Either that or lose a clear decision from getting rocked or knocked down in the fight.
Trinidad TKO 10 Mosley doesn't have the style to beat a prime Trinidad. He's never been a mover like De La Hoya was when he faced Trinidad, an awkward defensive technician who relys on a jab to set everything up like Wright, or a slick/crafty fighter like Hopkins. Mosley is a mid-range boxer/slugger, which plays directly into Trinidad's hands. Trinidad would have an advantage from this range because of his height, reach, more authoritative jab, and straighter punches. He'd nullify Mosley's advantage in speed with his phenominal timing and superior technique/technical skills. Mosley would actually make his job a little easier because he's never had any objections to turning a fight into a brawl. In these instances, Trinidad's accuracy would surface and he'd absolutely connect with the left hook and straight right hand. Shane has a great chin, and he's basically cut from stone, but there's only so much you can take. Forrest had him badly hurt. Trinidad is a harder puncher than Forrest, especially from mid/close range. I see the referee or the corner stopping the fight in the late rounds after Shane takes a steady diet of power punches and really gets busted up.
That's an understatement, one of the hardest 'reflex talent' fighters I've ever seen in my time, most guys of his physical gifts are more defensive and not as rugged, Shane is a man of steel. Anyway, this is about as good a fight break as it's going to get cut and dry and I agree with it 100%. It'd be a fan favourite fight though because each round would be contested with a lot of action, Mosely gives a great account of himself.... as always.
