The main thing people are disregarding when considering Shane's last losing effort to Miguel Cotto in this so-called declining phasis of his career ( of course he's not on his ascending curve cause that was in 1997), they're not considering that Miguel banged with Shane toe to toe for 5 and 1/2 rounds until Shane boxed in circles for a couple of rounds more. Until that point, it was all about give and take, nobody backed off, sledge-hammerin and choppin with blows that would have knocked out most welterweights... Is Berto to goe toe to toe with Shane ( who has been in 2001 at the Staples with Hoya, in MSG with Cotto, in the Staples again and in front of 20 thousand against Margarito)? Berto went somehow close to fight his heart out in the final stretch against Collazo... So where does that leave us? Is Berto in there just to try to steal the fight from Shane based on handspeed?
Max Kellerman is a dickhead. Berto won't win, won't go close. Shane wins this and after that Floyd Mayweather Jr is coming to get him. There better be drug testing in place for that one too :yep
I really hope we see "the best Shane Mosely" too. Shane's hot-or-miss to me; you never really know what you're going to get. Especially now that he is 35. I hope for this fight is merely that the winner makes a statement with an incredible performance - setting up a megafight with Mayweather or Pacquiao.
Not just fighters. ALL athletes. It's just a fact of life, like it or not. When there are millions riding on whether they win or lose, their entire livelihood, guys will do whatever they think they have to do. If everybody else is roiding in the NFL (and they are) and you're not... then for you, NFL means 'not for long' because you won't make the cut.
After watching Berto-Collazo and Berto-Urango again, I don't see any way Berto wins unless he has improved dramatically and Mosley falls off the cliff.
