    At 140.

Mosley never fought at this weight, so we'll have to guess how well he'd perform. Chavez was never better than he was at this weight. Chavez didn't have any real success at welter, so I didn't want to put it there.

Meldrick Taylor's hand speed is shade or so faster than Mosley, but Mosley is physically stronger. Mosley is also taller.

When I started typing this thread, I thought I was really onto something. I've never analyzed this fight. Now that I've thought about it a few moments...

Chavez really doesn't look that great against taller fighters. Mosley may only be around 2 inches taller, but he has a fairly long reach. Mosley at the very least, hits on par with Frankie Randall. I don't know how much trouble he would really have with Chavez. It looks like...

Wait a second. I've done some more thinking.

Chavez has the most complete offense of any fighter Mosley has ever faced. He also has fairly heavy hands, and marks fighters up a lot. Mosley tends to stand and trade more than some with his athletic ability would normally do. He also has that bad habbit of just backing straight up. That is why Cotto was able to find him with his jab so often.

I can see Chavez catching him with his straight right when Mosley backs up with his hands down, and then stepping forward to catch Mosley with that left hook to the body as Mosley is adjusting to being caught in the face. Then I can see Chavez leaving his hands too wide while he's thinking offense, and taking a beautiful combination from Mosley.

You know, I think I was onto something afterall.

I said Mosley hits on par with Randall. Mosley: 37 of 44 wins by ko / Randall: 42 of 59 wins by ko. Mosley has enough power to be respected at welterweight. Mosley has enough power to be respected even at 154.

Chavez handled taller fighters like Kamau, Wise, De la Hoya, and Gonzalez so well. I know he was older in those fights, but I don't recall him facing that many taller opponents earlier in his career. Maybe the Pink Panther, but so what. Angel Hernandez was taller, I think, but I'm just going on memory. Chavez normally fought people close to his height, and didn't have to compensate for the size difference. It shows in the fights mentioned earlier.

I don't know what Roger Mayweather's reach is. I do know that Shane Mosley's is 74", and that is 3 inches longer than Mike Tyson's.

I think Mosley's power is being underated here , i would say his power is devastating , (though it has diminishd over time because his speed has) . This fight could be at 135 aswell , where they both fought.

They both have great chins , but Chavez' could be one of the best ever . This could become a war , a really hard one to pick. I think Mosley could score well with fast counters and attack the body well , but Chavez would take over there and chip away with the overhand right over the top of Mosley's low left . I think Chavez would outpoint Mosley in one for the ages here.

Yeah, Roger was tall and built like a tank, but he had tiny toothpick legs making him succeptible to falling over like a stack of cards. Had he developed his legs he probably would've had a better carreer.
