I'm picking Mosley in this fight and its not because he just beat beat Margarito because styles do make fights, but because his boxing has seemed to improve and the fact that there is a possibility that Cotto is soften up from the Margarito loss. I think Shane has a good chance.
Right now I lean towards Mosley winning it, because of the fact that Shane will know exactly what to expect in a rematch, plus he'll have the first fight to study and adjust accordingly. But I have to see how Cotto looks (not just if he wins) against Jennings before I make my pick.
I haven't seen him fight before to be honest, but is Jennings that bad? Well, many said Cotto could be a broken man after the bad loss to Margarito, and this could be a possibility. Many fighters didn't come back as strong as before, after their first loss. So I want to see how he looks in there again.
lets put it like this, Quintana is probably a B+ class fighter, and he looked like a superstar against him Gomez wasn't that bad of a fighter either, and he completely dominated him, dropped him with a single jab in fact Jennings is in for a good pay day, but the beating of his life
Everyone was shocked, JM. Seeing Mosley knock down and TKO Margarito isn't what anyone expected. What do you think should be Margarito's next move?
I had Mosely beating Cotto the first time. When interviewed about the fight Mosely admitted to fighting the wrong gameplan against Cotto. He said he was head hunting early to really test Cotto's chin and when he wasnt able to get in, he went for the body late which paid little dividends but did show signs of it working since Cotto was running in the last few rounds.
cotto's best weapon vs. mosley was his jab. with shane on fire and with nazim richardson in his corner now shane is still the physical fighter, but seems alot more technical (such as the clinching) so he's more versatile now. obviously he didn't do anything different in his rematches with forrest and winky and fought the exact same way he did the first time, which really disappointed me. i think no doubt a rematch with miguel will be more interesting, more competitive, but i'll give shane the benefit of the doubt. he himself is a great bodypuncher like cotto, but i won't dismiss cotto just yet. i just think shane might have a mental edge over miguel since their first fight was close and he had miguel hurt the late rounds, plus the fact he destroyed miguel's conqueror.
