Shane should not make experiences and adjust as much to Cotto but to make his own style come up naturally and relaxed in there. Mosley also had his share of lefties in Winky and Collazo and never led with the right cause his right is his money-punch, not the left counter, so if he puts his right foot in front, he won't be able to put straight punches and combos together as easily and naturally. Cotto's problems with southpaws are his and only his, I think he did well with his own "money punch" left hook to the body against Quintana, Corley and Judah but that's more matter for other discussions. Nonetheless, I feel it's easy to hit Miguel to the head and to the body cause he comes at ya very slow starting off and with high guard, his gloves near his temples and since his body is so thick and massive ( 159 pounds at fight night against Urkal), he can't protect his rib-cage with his arms or block fast punches ( the elbows barely touch the body, hangin up there and all force is exerted by the strong, huge upper body), problem being that if he takes the punch, he comes right back with monster hooks from counter position and that can snap you back... But I see Shane picking his shots, moving well side to side, feinting and out-punching Miguel all nite long too.

I like Cotto in this matchup.

Cotto seems more comfortable at 147 and I think making 140 caused some of his problems in the past. Cotto got stunned by Judah, but big deal. Lots of guys get stunned by the speed and power of Judah. I think Cotto's punch resistance is good enough.

Mosley fights extremely well for a 36 year old, but he's still a 36 year old. I don't think he has as much left as a lot of other people think. He's still good, tough, quick, etc...but I think Cotto's pressure and workrate, along with his solid skill set, will be the difference. At Mosley's age, he fights at a more measured pace. Mosley will try to control the pace and clinch Cotto to get rest, but Cotto's a strong guy and keeps coming. Cotto also has a very good workrate, and his bodyshots should affect anyone, especially a 36 year old. Mosley will have his moments, but I think Cotto will gradually do the damage and take over, winning a UD, although a late stoppage is not that hard to see either.

    Cotto UD 12 Mosley

Bernard fights at a measured pace for his age. He is economical with his punches. And never does more than he can per round. Mosley uses a completely different style. He loves to go to war. And like ive said before, Mosley fights like a young man. But, once they go to war together, Cotto will make Mosley remember his age.
