I had to relive this fight today and this is what I call explosive punchers squaring off in a fight where every second of that fight both men were dangerous. I am trying to make some type of comparison here but how do you think Floyd would of did against that version of Vernon Forrest taking everything into consideration, height, reach, speed, jab and killer instinct... Shane proved to me in that fight that he can take a shot and a half and I just cannot see how someone like Pacquiao would get him out of there lol. It's beyond my comprehension lol. If Mosley had to fight Pac at a suitable weight it would probably be a similar type of fight eventually after 1 or 2 rounds of feeling each other out. Watch you think ??? 2 questions in one
Yea Forrest was a beast in that fight. I'm jealous I want to watch it now. The way Mosley has reacted to bigger guys even in defeat should be looked upon in a better light. This is why i figured Mosley a very tough fight for Pac. I look at Mosley as a guy who possesses what Pac does in a bigger nut. Floyd would have showed better D. But I don't know how he could have kept that version of Forrest at bay. He was so fast that night also, and was relentless. I figured Forrest going on to big things after that. Boy was I wrong.
hahaha, fo sho. It just goes to show that to defend a belt is the real test of a champion and I dont want to draw light back to Mayweather but I cant help but mention his name after witnessing 2 guys in Forrest and Mosley duking it out like that in real killer mode and then to praise each other so highly after the fight, I mean the sportsmanship was a show of class by both fighters and when I hear of how Mayweather uses Mosleys losses as an excuse to discredit him is real ***** like behaviour because if Mayweather was up against that version of Forrest and got hit with those same punches I really dont think that he would be standing after that, he would of been taken to the nearest a & e lol
You know when you're the best like Mosley was at that time. Then you fight the best around you it shows your greatness, and the need for you to achieve greatness. There aren't many in history that would have withstood Forrest that night. He was a man posessed against Mosley. Every great champion has great challenges that is what they get remembered for winning and losing and how they react to that.
