Mosley vs Julio Cesar Chavez sr, how does this play out?

Both have solid chins, iron in Chavez's case, both can fight inside, Chavez has his viscous hook to the body, whilst Mosley also has a good body attack, Mosley has more power, is probably quicker, more athletic, and a better box, but Chavez has underrated ability for slipping shots, picking shots off, he is also extremely good at cutting the ring down

Mosley decision, if I had to choose. Would be a he'll of a fight. TS you don't rate mosley's chin as iron?

Mosley has no problem with this style and is physically stronger than Chavez, though I think he does not punch as hard and wastes more movement. I think its either a Mosley UD or late stoppage due to extreme superiority in speed. Mosley is much much better than Roger Mayweather, who fought a great second fight against Chavez but was just too too fragile to go the distance. Mosley is not fragile, and matches up excellently with this come forward style, whereas Chavez always kind of relies on busting up guys with faster movement, and Mosley is really really hard to bust up.

    Chavez late TKO or UD.
I think he breaks him physically and mentally like Vernon did.

  8. Hard mother****in fight to pick, but I would give Mosley the edge. Sugar was a god damn BEAST at 135 and JCC was a monster at 135/140. The fight would be a fun one.

  9. Respectfully...that is silly. Mosley was something like 32-0 with 30 KOs at 135.

Chavez by KO or clear UD if Shane's chin holds up

Good post, although disagree about the power, I think Mosley hits a lot harder than JCC.

I thought so too until I saw his fights at light. Those are a lot of late attrition kos and the guys were physically in the match. He had MUCH more power at welter. I was amazed that he wasn't knocking these little guys out easy after seeing things like Diaz and Wise and Stone at welter. Gomez, Cebellos, Molina, Leija and Holiday had to be worn down EXTREMELY (holiday survived) and were like 9 to 11 round KOS via attrition, and they were clinching with him successfully. At welter he would have gotten those guys out of there in two, but those tough lightweights pressured Mosley a lot. Chavez had a whole lot of power at 135 with like 2 or 3 round KOs, but he was a plodder. He couldn't always catch everybody, Mosley was not a plodder so eventually he caught up to you.

Having said that Chavez hits harder at 135, Mosley is much faster and better all around and has little to no problem with plodders.

and if you haven't seen his fights at lightweight, order his career or look them up, I think you will be surprised like me. The extra twelve pounds did him a world of good ... until he fought forrest.

mosley was a beast at 135...but who the **** did he ever beat at that weight that makes you think mosley would win :huh

i love how people think chavez would get tko'd at those weights, when in fact he fought harder, faster punchers and never even flinched once....
