That's the advantage of being a recognized name. I do wonder what happens if we get Cotto-Margo again, if Margarito breaks down Cotto again or if Cotto can be slicker in his defense and gut it out to a decision.

Because Cotto was an undefeated fighter that fought anyone they put in front of him including Margarito.

I agree. Fighting two of the best welters in Cotto and Margarito at his age is incredible. Too bad Oscar doesn't have the courage to follow suit despite being bigger and more powerful than Mosley not to mention younger as well.

Damn you Mayweather haters are pathetic. The dude retired get over it.

Anyway, I'll be rooting for Shane but he's too past it to beat Margo at this stage. And by the way, why isn't Margo getting bashed for this fight? If PBF came out of retirement to fight him he'd be getting bashed left and right.

Gotta root for Shane. His one shot is to get right in margarito's chest and try to bang away. ****, this is a bad matchup.

Mosley was dropped by uppercuts against Forrest and Margarito always throws them. Bad matchup for Shane Mosley.

**** it im gonna go with mosley in this one just because no one else is

the guy is a frickin warrior and he's only been seriously hurt by vernon forrest... he's gonna outbox margo for the first few rounds and then when the **** gets serious, he is not gonna back up like cotto did, they will just go to war... they both backed up cotto in their fights... mosley will be throwing and by sheer luck hit a million to 1 jackpot and hit margo on the only weak spot on his chin wherever the hell that is and be the first person to unequivocally ko margo

then i'm gonna wake up and turn off my alarm

The Cotto loss has been something Shane was/is obsessed with. We have to keep in mind this is a proud guy who knows how it looks at this point. He really wants to put a positive stamp on his legacy, any way possible. Ultimately, I'm sure Mosley doesn't feel he has alot to lose, even against someone who is percieved as dangerous as Margarito is at this particular point in time.

The reality is the fans are really happy on the idea that Margarito is some Godzilla monster, but in actuality he may be slowing down and might be somewhat vulnerable himself. Alot of fans are using Miguel Cotto as a barometer for how quality Margarito's win was, how much Margarito has left, how much Shane has left, and how good Cotto himself is based on beating Mosley at this stage in the game. The Cotto formula might be a bad foundation for varying schools of thought to branch from. Perception is a really big factor at this point.

    :good

    good point

its the double standards, i don't mind margarito taking this fight as long as he face's paul williams who already beat him to give the true welterweight champ, but i won't hold my breath

I would love to see them both fight a phone booth type war. I hope Cotto faces at least Berto or Clottey for a belt because someone like Lujan or Baldomir would be an anti-climatic build-up towards a rematch with either Mosley or Margarito.

That's another thing, if Margo wins, which if he is half as good as his fans think he is, he should crush Mosley. Then he faces a guy he already beat by TKO. Doesn't sound like the toughest fights to me.
