Well the clock was at :05 when the ref said "Come toward me" - amd my thought process was literally, "Okay, a little more time and this could be over but no WAY does Shane have time to pull it off in the three seconds he'll have left...right...? OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ****" I agree Mayo was very badly stunned, Shane could have landed anything flush and he'd have gone back down, the fact that it was a laser-guided monster shot to the jaw just makes it all the more dramatic and awesome.
Werd. Mayorga didn't even know where the ref was after the first kd. Despite holding his gloves high he was done. Check the last kd on the replay :yikes. Hilarious finish.
The Taylor - Chavez stop has been debated to death in hear and in the classic forum. I think Steele did the right thing in retrospect, but that's another thread. I also believe Shane is shot.
You are right, Mosley didn't say he won't fight Margarito next, but he didn't say he would either. Which is a complete turnaround from what he was saying about Margarito prior to the the Mayorga fight. He may still fight Margarito, but he'll probably ask for a lot more money now after the rough fight with Mayorga.

For good reason, he's old. If Mayorga can give him a close fight then Margarito will be far more dangerous, I actually had Mayorga winning this fight as he was obviously busier throwing more. Think it's the best choice for Mosley to retire but then again knowing him I won't be surprised if he fights Margarito next.
Mayorga just didn't see it coming and there was a punch before that which started it as Merchant pointed out that Mayorga was hurt. Then Mosley opens up and unloads Mayorga hits the canvas. Awesome SHOCKING finish, no one saw it coming. Mayorga definitely didn't see it coming, he was fighting smarter early and in the end he opens up in careless fashion and boom he's out.
I'm entirely with you on both points. Trust me, I've debated Chavez-Taylor to death too, both here and elsewhere. Shane should still wrap it up after this. He's done.
