He's just hyping him up, I would say he's hand speed is equal to a Terry Norris maybe but not Sugar Ray Leonard.
Forbes just didn't do much, he looked really good early, I gave him the first two as he showed speed and was busy. Sadly he just slowed down, could be Berto's body shots and age combined. Official scores out, Berto wins.
Not a great fight. Berto did show some very impressive handspeed though. And he made some great adjustments for such a young fighter.
and now the main event? I cant wait to hear Mosleys legendary introduction, his place in the hof assured the three weight world champion and two time welerweight champion
That's because not all of his punches landed, some were blocked and Forbes just proved he has a great chin, he took Oscar's punches at Light Middleweight and kept coming. Credit to Forbes' defense/chin here rather than questioning Berto's power. What won Berto this fight is being busier.
Yeah, that can be a bit boring when both have very good defense, still a clear good win for Berto. Let's see what he does next.
Mayorga vs Mosley coming up. Steward talking about Mayorga, says Mayorga doesn't have much of a chance here simply because he lacks the skill in comparison to someone like Mosley. Though he also said in the end that based on what he saw from Mayorga's preparation/physique he believes Mayorga has trained for this the hardest he has since Vernon Forrest.
I don't know if I'd say gutless. I'd say lackluster performance from both men...but Berto did what he had to do to win it. Berto didn't adjust..he just got more aggressive and more intense with his work rate. That's what won him the fight. He reminds me a lot of Cotto before he came a better boxer.
