Didn't get to see this fight but from what I hear Mayorga was up at the time of the KO. I just watched the last round and wow was it ever dramatic.

That being said how did Mosley look in the fight? I would have previously bet that Mosley would pick Mayorga apart but I guess that wasn't the case. Does Shane have what it takes to keep fighting against top level guys?

P.S. Notice how Larry Merchant says at the end of the fight, "Mosley wins, and it's by a knockout.....Shane Mosley I love you!". I think Larry had some money riding on a Mosley KO...like many people probably did.

Here it is. I love that last left hook that drops Ricardo. Goodnight.

Hmm, I recall Mosley being up in the fight at the time of the stoppage, but I don't have my scorecard book with me right now.

i had mosley up slightly at the time of stoppage. just to be clear the last round would have made him a clear winner on my scorecard. BUT mayorga still has something in the tank and mosley is an effective, but OLD trial horse. mosley should have destroyed him but didn't. i love mayorga but c'mon, he's not an elite boxer. mosley is past his prime but i agree with the anaology that he's like '98 holyfield...past his prime but can still compete with the best

It was a brutal knockout that last left hook crashed into Mayorgas jaw and had him laying on the ground for quite a while.

Mosley looked fit as always.. I dont think he fought the right fight he wanted to stand in front of Mayorga and he never ran he was always in front of him so that may be why Mayorga was able to land some blows.

I remember a shitload of people saying that about Hopkins going into his fight with Pavlik..."Oh he lost to Taylor who lost to Pavlik" Be careful with that kind of thinking, style matchups are very important in boxing and Margo's stand in front style will suit Shane. I dont know that at this age Shane can keep up with a top fighter in his prime.

Scoring was completely split here on ESB, many had it decisively for one fighter with a scorecard of 7-4 or better for one guy going into the 12th, both sides couldnt believe that some had the other fighter ahead, just glad that the fight didnt go to the scorecards and have ourselves a controversy. It was completely far from a schooling to what HBO commentators were making it out to be.

Mosely was ignorant, Mayorga wanted to trade and Mosely was willing to do so and got hit plenty. Hope he wont do the same with Margo or else he will leave the ring in a stretcher.

That is maybe the cheesiet thing I've ever heard Merchant say.. and that guy has a long history of cheesy ass lines.

Merchant should cut back on the drinking before he declares his homo-love for another fighter.
