Too bad Mosley got stuck fighting Clottey which will be a small time WCB type fight. He just doesn't get enough credit anymore. Sure, Cotto beat him and he looked awful for 11 rounds against Mayorga but I think his style is the one that will give Floyd the harder fight. I'm not trying to discount Manny's chances, I'd just rather see Mosley get the fight.

I really hope Cotto beats Pacman(no offense to Pac i am a fan)then we might get to see Mosley/Cotto V PBF which IMO will be the much much better fights and put an end to these little guy big guy fights, plain and simple 147lbs job done :deal

youre rite on about shane giving floyd the harder fight simply based on 'styles' and more importantly the 'physical' aspect off top. but this thread is about which fight would do more ppv buys and when it comes to the lowest risk, highest $reward$ fight we already know which avenue floyds gonna take.

now as far as shanes options, from my understanding they were really trying to put together a fight with berto prior to josh but all fell apart due to negotiations and the whole marketing sense. has shane lost credibility? -i dont think so. lets face it, he never really was a huge ppv attraction due to whatever reason. bottom line is that we 'boxing fans' know that shane is the only top welter that floyd would consider to fight. *forget paul willy*

the result of pacquiao-cotto will give us all a clear indication of what fights lay ahead.

Thank you for humoring me. To be honest and as I've hinted before, I really wish for the Shane/Floyd fight to be made so I(we) can get our money's(pun!) worth outta Floyd for once. I think both would give him a good fight and truly test his greatness, but Shane is the fight with true welterweight credibility. It could be that one career defining fight for Floyd, which he desperately needs. Enough of the glorified exhibition "fights" he's been involved with lately. Give up on some of the physical advantages over your opponent and for once, challenge himself for the sake of giving all of us what we want to see from him. There was really no doubt of the outcome in any of our minds going into this fight. Let us not know what to expect and truly have faith in your abilities.
Sure Pac looks like a beast after his lasst few fights but I honestly feel that Floyd needs to prove himself against a man in his weight division and finally establish himself as a true star in the boxing world.
Maybe its a pipe dream for me to believe he actually gives a ****. Truth be told, I feel he if anyone is the fighter that can save boxing, not Pac. But if he keeps on giving us huge events with a certain result and no fireworks/excitement like tonight, fans feel slighted and ripped off.
Maybe he is making money but at the same time, he is shooting himself and the sport in the foot.

Solid post mate. and you speak for millions of us. but like you said, floyd doesnt give 2 shits about a real 'legendary legacy' let alone boxing fans. he's the most talented & skillfull fighter in this era yet we're subjected to bull**** reasons and excuses like "oh floyd doesnt need to him"... "the money isnt right"... "what has he done"... "and floyd would beat him anyway..."

so **** the 'IF' b/c in reality the man that 'IS' saving boxing is manny pacquiao.
