At the 10th round one of them will land ONE punch. Before the end of the 12th one of them will feint and neither guy will land much if anything. After the fight Mora says he didn't want to hurt Clottey & Clottey does the same dance he did when he was entering the ring to face Pacquiao.
All Mosley was doing was chasing and missing. Mosley hit the air, gloves and arms the whole fight. This is not clean effective shots. I know Mora landed few punches, but Mosley landed even less. Mora was superior in the inside with his combinations (even when he was against the ropes) and in the outside, where Mosley landed close to nothing. This fight reminds me a lot Froch-Dirrel, and I had Mora and Dirrel winning, as you need to land punches to score, even not walking foward.
I agree. The sad part is that Clottey has his moments when he decides to throw but then he stays in a shell. I thought he actually beat my boy Cotto TBH but he hasn't looked good overall since.
The man who fought judah and cotto was not there vs pac. dunno what it was, tummy bug, pac bein too good, stagefright.....
Diarrhea. If it wasn't for that he would've won according to Clottey. I just think Pacquiao was too good & too fast for him. He fought pretty smart against Clottey and threw smart combinations. I actually didn't find the fight boring at all but it was frustrating looking at a fighter who blows a once in a lifetime chance. Regardless at the fact that I'm a Pacquiao fan I just was getting a bit irritated that Clottey wasn't doing much. He had success wth uppercuts but threw so few of them. BTW, I haven't seen the Judah-Clottey fight in awhile I'm gonna check it out either today or tomorrow.
I was away last weekend and didn't get a chance to see it live and couldn't wait until tonight to see for myself whether it was controversial and Mora should have won as some people were adamant about. Then I saw Mora move around the ring not landing anything significant. Can't figure out how someone scores that for Mora.
1. Mora landed maybe ten significant shots in the entire fight, and that's using the term "significant" extremely loosely. There's no debating who landed the more effective shots. Mosley missed often, of course, but Mora wasn't making him pay. He was just backing up even more. 2. I had Dirrell beating Froch and Mosley beating Mora. It's not a stylistic matter really. Mosley was just the more effective boxer in the ring against Mora.
Even the Clottey that fought Cotto gave the fight away to Cotto with a serious cut due to inactivity. Clottey just couldn't miss with that right hand late in the fight... but he wouldn't throw it nearly often enough. Against Pacquiao there were many problems such as his trainer not being able to make it to the U.S. to actually train him, etc.. Clottey has a history of coming up short when the lights get bright, so that wasn't surprising againt Pacquiao. Pacquiao's also just flat out better.
