Both have fought at 154 with mixed success.

Mosley has stated that he's better suited for 147 and has voiced his desire to pursue opportunities at welterweight. 147 is currently a pretty deep division with plenty of good fights for him.

Mora has stated that he's better suited for 160 and has voiced his desire to pursue opportunities at middleweight. Mora has yet to really make a title run at middleweight.

After this fight, both will most likely reiterate their previous sentiment to NOT fight at 154 - then fight a rematch. Or two.

They may make for an entertaining fight, which isn't a given with Mora's style, but they do nothing for either fighter. A win/loss does nothing for Mosley's legacy. A win/loss does nothing for Mora's pursuit of a middleweight title.

I don't get the reasoning behind this matchmaking.

why not... he still wants to fight...and people think they can take him down after his bout with mayweather... he'll kick the living dog**** out of mora.. and he will get his props back again...
people will say mose is still done and that mora was never an anybody.

After the beatdown Money implemented on Shane he just wants to gauge whether or not he's still an elite fighter. I would say not as is mostly the case after Money dismantles them.

Its a good choice for Mora. Middleweight isn't very deep right now but he'll still get worked hard. I'm favoring Mosley in this fight.

it's not fair how some of these fighters get treated after mayweather systematically breaks them down. it's like a video game... they make it up to the boss at the end...they lose...and then say the game..the characters..etc sucks.

I can see that - if he was fighting a 147 gatekeeper or up & comer.

Would be nice to see his two recently aborted fights (Judah & Berto) come to fruition. Both would make more sense than this obvious shenanigan.

If he loses to Mora he can lean on his tried & true excuse for losing @ 154: He's too small at the weight. Moreso since he's fighting someone that should be fighting at middleweight.

Same here. Mosley is my favorite fighter and I'll always show support. Yes - I'm one of the morons that will buy the PPV despite the infinitely superior Marquez-Vasquez matchup on showtime.

The fight just does **** for either fighter.

If it's remotely close, an immediate rematch will most likely happen. That's just how Shane rolls. Props to him for histrorically going that route regardless of whose hand is raised.

Mosley wins convincingly: he'll feel the need to go after a better fighter. Most likely at 147.

Mosley loses: He'll lean on the previous "too small for 154 logic" and either seek a legitimate fighter @ 147 or fight a name fighter in a farewell fight somewhere between 147-154.

Mora wins: Will he stay at 154? If so, why? Williams, Martinez & co. make more sense at 160.

Mora loses: Will want to go back to 160. Where he should be in the first place.

Makes sense for Mora. Bad fight for Mosley IMO. He could very well be upset. Plus the PPV will do terrible #s
