I guess some people think hitting gloves and forearms is the same thing as landing flush powershots. Go figure.

Agreed. Hatton only landed on his ass after that great left hook.

Mayweather crushes this guy by wide UD ... if Cotto can outbox this guy there's no reason to believe that PBF can't.

I think Floyd uses his superior boxing skills along w/ his good use of the ring and footwork to cruise along to victory.

I think the last 4 rounds of the Cotto fight showed Shanes inability to box ... he's a fast puncher and has good power, but other than that his skills are very limited on the elite level.

All of Shane's losses were to good boxers and stepping up against a great boxer means nothing other than another defeat.

Shane tries his hardest but ... he can't out box anyone for the life of him ...

I agree he loses but for different reasons SSM in his prime would have a good chance, and like or not a peak Mosley would crush Cotto but at 36 going on 37 he is just a shot fighter. As for his losses Forrest was a bad matchup and Winky is a great boxer who can beat anyone 154 and down IMO.

I disagree ... because in his prime he lost to Vernon Forrest (twice) ... I don't think that Mosley would ever be able to beat a guy like Mayweather. Mayweather is alot more skilled --

There is a reason why Mosley didn't make the US olympic team ... yeah amateurs don't matter but when its a measure of skill and ability - amateurs have everything to do with it.

In the pro's you can overwhelm a guy w/ one certain thing - but when it comes to longevity and a consistant run ... the boxers do it the best.

Mosley showed he has trouble w/ straight punches ... he's only showed power and speed --

Mosley has always been very hittable and has always shown a tendancy to brawl his way in and out of a fight.

A Mosley no matter at any stage in his career - will get beat by a master boxer like Mayweather ... and thats the reason why they never fought !!

Mosley Lost because of the size difference more than anything else. AS for why they never fought, both guys were looking at the big money in a DLH fight so why would they look at each other with DLH right there.

At this point in their careers, Floyd. Prime for prime, Mosley.

Size has nothing to do with anything ... if size mattered he shouldn't have been fighting ... and last time I checked he was the same size as the guys he was fighting.

Height has nothing to do with it and neither does reach ... if that mattered then we would have alot more guys undefeated in boxing now -- and Cotto wasn't bigger than Mosley !!

And to why they never fought was because Mosley was looking for the bigger money. Floyd has always been about the prestige ... and at that time you Floyd would've fought a big name for $5 - if it meant having a victory on his resume over him.

All the names that Floyd called out ... (who were all big names) if he managed to get a fight w/ them ... he beat them.

I don't think Mosley would be any different --

There's an obvious different in the level of talent between the two ... thats why Floyd hasn't lost yet and Mosley has 5 on his resume.

Given the fact that his most notable win ever was against DLH says something about him as well ... 5 L's with you most notable win against Oscar DLH 2wice.

Prime for Prime or at this point Floyd wins ... all Mosley had was power and speed ... no skills ...

He overwhelmed his opponents - he never outboxed them ...

You can't name one fight where you seen Mosley outbox someone ... he was never a boxer ... he was a brawler who had fast hands.

He would brawl his way in and out of fights ...

He has no jab at all and his money punch was the right hand and the left hook to the body. All the while he left himself open for good shots.
Look at his KO ratio ... that doesn't show skill it shows power !!

He's stiff ... always has, he lacks head and shoulder movement, he never used angles and couldn't fight effectively going backwards.

While Floyd on the other hand is a master boxer ... look at his record w/ having more than 10 fights go the distance ... he shown that he can go the distance and get the victory ... more times than not when Mosley went the distance he usually lost.

Outside of DLH ... you can credit Jesse James Leja or Luis Collazo as his most notable victories ... a shot Vargas is out of the question ...

There was a thread "is Mosley an ATG?" and the majority said no ... but even the most envious and the biggest hater of Floyd would tell you that he's an ATG.

    I can't dispute your opinion ... but a real question ...

outside of who you think would win ... who has more skill between the two? (not physical attributes, but actual boxing skill)
