Mosley's prime wasn't at lightweight. But this seems a tasty fight. I'd call this a SD for either man. I can't decide.
Too whirlwinds with great chins pounding the Hell out of each other. Both can box too so there'd be a couple of interesting rounds too! I have to go Pryor by UD. Anything Shane can do, he can do better. But in an ATG sense, Mosley has a better resume.
Hell of a fight, probably winds up a toss-up either way. Small nitpick: I've never seen Pryor counterpunch like Shane is capable of doing, (when he bothers instead of charging in) or throw accurate precise bombs like Mosley used to beat down Margarito. Otherwise I echo the sentiment: two hard punching, explosively fast, iron jawed fighters who like to get right in there and fight. Would be an entertaining match from start to finish.
Lets assume for a miniute Shane doesn't have a massive weight draining advantage and all else is equal. Pryor is a very underrated natural boxer and shot picker but he does love to engage, which would make this a war. Mosley's power-speed boxing would find a happy home in this type of fight. Mosley's faster, stronger and was more powerful. Mosley 8-4 UD, maybe he KD's Pryor late
this wouldve been a war.i actually cant pick a winner on this one,i can see a split decision win either way.
I'll take Pryor on points. But the styles matchup is not a bad one for Shane at all, when they both like to fight moreso than anything else, but they can box also, i usually got the idea that when Pryor boxed he was just taking a break before going back into attack mode, but i got the idea when Shane boxed on the outside it was to create openings in his opponent and then counter and capitalise with the fast power shots. Not sure how that observation may play a role here but i do think that constant pressure from Pryor makes it a bit hard for Shane to work, although the sugar body shots will land, even though Pryor's angles make that difficult. When Pryor decides to box i see Shane getting off with combos and the clubbing right. Pryor might come off the floor but i think his pace enables him to come strong and take a decision.
I love Pryor, but I've gotta go with Shane. I'll take him via SD only though. The reason being both have power, speed and great chins and both love to brawl, Pryor is probably the better brawler with the better stamina, but I think where this fight will be won is Shane's extra boxing ability, I mean Pryor can box aswell, but I think Shane may be able to nick a couple of extra rounds on counter-punching and just nick a decision.
If Mosley employed the strategy and had the fire he did against Margarito he could very well stop Pryor. Supressing Pryor's own workrate, counter punching, head getting ready to snap off your shoulders combination's. Even at lightweight Mosley entered the ring as a literal middleweight. It wouldn't be like Arguello teeing off on him, that's or sure.
I agree. It's not out of the question that Mosley would overwhelm Pryor with his power shots. Arguello usually only caught Pryor with one massive power punch at a time. With Mosley's speed and style he would follow up with another, another, then another, etc.
