If Sugar Shane and Trinidad foguht at 147, both at their best, who wins that one? I give Shane the edge because if Oscar could give Trinidad problems Mosley could give him even more but if Tito landed that left hook how well would Shane take it?
At their very best? I give Tito the edge. Shane was a brave fighter; Too brave for his own good. Oscar got on his bike, and outboxed Tito behind his jab, with is feet. Shane would probably try to take Tito out, and I can't see him taking the kind of left hooks Oscar hit him with from Trinidad. Then again, Tito could be completely flummoxed by Shane's speed, and get swamped, striking out every time he loaded up. Close fight, but I pick the bigger puncher and the bigger man in a fight where neither guy is a defensive genius.
i think the Shane Mosley of the first Oscar fight who moved and boxed from the outside would win a decision against Tito and it wouldnt surprise me if he puts Tito on the canvas at least once.
I agree with Magna- Shane is too brave for his own good. He's fast, but he's more in and out and fast-handed rather than fast laterally as a boxer... I think it's close until Tito zeroes in with his big shots. I think he'll start timing Shane with straight rights and left hooks around midway. Tito's jab is also a point of concern for Shane. Tito probably wins a decision here.
In order to beat a prime Mosely 1) You had to have a proper jab and 2) you had to be able to box. Tito was good at neither. While this fight would be very competitive, Mosely would outspeed him and beat Tito to the punch. I think Shane would wear Tito down with body punches and stop him late.
Both guys get disrespected on this forum way to much....but on the topic and consistant with what I know of the guys and the consensus opinions so far this is a toss up type of fight. A shame it never happened. if forced to fall of the fence I might lean towards Tito.....but I wouldn't make a pick with any confidence.
Trinidad by late Knockout. Mosley is not that good defensivley to avoid the exchanges. Tito would apply that physical mental pressure round after round he would eventually bust Shane up. Shane Mosley was a brave fighter and I dont see him quitting the way DelaHoya did in the later rounds. He would stand in there and go out like a champion.
I believe by the 5th or 6th round Tito turns in on and just ends up being too much for Mosley..I even see a Shane gettin KO'd late.
