Someone just wondered on another thread what Mosley could've been had he stayed at 135 and moved up to 140 later in his career, instead of jumping two divisions to chase that DLH money. Then I realized that Tzsyu ruled the 140 terrain and they were both in their primes at the time, and thought what a bout that might've been. I usually don't even get involved in these kinds of threads, but the idea of this matchup makes my imagination run wild. It could've been a classic. Can't decide who I would've picked. Your thoughts.
Mosley KO inside 5. Tszyu was one of my favorite fighters but there's no way he would've been able to handle Shane in his prime. Would have been a phenomenal ass whooping.
Mosley too fast and atleast as strong, there is no certain area where i would favor Tszyu not in a slugfest or boxing match. Although Tszyu would make it exciting and competetive if they went toe to toe, i still favor Mosley. Im gonna go with Mosley Tko 8 or 9. Would be competetive and a helluva fight up until the mid rounds when Mosley speed, body punching and equal power would start to be too much for Kostya. Mosley Tko 8
I agree Mosley had faster hands overall, but I think people underestimate how fast and powerful Kostya's straight right was. That's the punch that Forrest knocked Mosley silly with, and I think Tzsyu's was harder and faster. I could see a Mosley KO, but I could see a Kostya KO too. I just think it would've been a fantastic clash.
oh please dont get me started, kostya tszyu was a good fighter but Mosley is an ATG kostyas best wins are zab judah and sharmba mitchell, kostya is the tyson of the lower weight divisions when discussing fantasy fights, no one is able to beat them yet Vince Philip and holyfield became their adopted fathers.
Depends how Mosley fights, history clearly shows that when Tszyu is pressured he doesn't perform well. But give him some room and time to think he usually figures his oppenents out quick. His big punch was always key, but just as key was his perfect timing. That's why when ever he was faced against a boxer he just murdered them, but pressure fighters usually troubled him.
2 Great fighters but Mosley's speed and solid chin would earn him the win in a tough contest. I see Mosley stopping Tsyzu in about 8 rounds.
Yey but that holds no water here Forrest was a tall and rangy counter puncher about 5 inches taller than Tszyu and different type of fighter, and as for Tszyu hitting harder than Forrest at 147 i dont buy that either. This was a bad comparison if you are trying to make a case for Tszyu.
Hey, lets all make Shane sound like he would KO anyone in this era (including a guy Floyd ducked) in a lame attept to distract the fact Floyd fought a shadow of him! Good callatsch
Most of the LWs he beat lasted at least 8 rounds. Those same fighters were knocked out quicker by fighters with less power than Mosley. Little James Leija lasted 9 before retiring on his stool after the 9th.
What are you talking about? The headbut was a full minute before the knockdown and neither fighter showed any ill effects until the huge right by Forrest.
Mosley is not a pressure fighter. You should watch some Mosley fights. Tszyu not performing well under pressure is a myth. He beat Hector Lopez, who was a tough pressure fighter and an Olympic silver medalist, pretty comprehensively in only his ten fight. He beat Tackie like he should have beat Phillips by jabbing him and boxing and clinching when he came too close. He had problems with his menager and training leading up to the Phillips fight. He wasn't 100%. If Raheem can beat Morales...If Jones can demolish Barrera...
