Well, The way Kostya completely dominated Vernon Forrest in the amateurs, shows what a complete boxer he is. Timing kills speed dead - and Tsyzu was the master at timing.
No, he shouldn't have. He skipped 140 (and Tszyu) to fight DLH, and winning that fight did everything to establish him as one of the greats with the boxing media and fans. In the late 90s when this fight was feasible, Tszyu was completely unknown in the US outside of hardcore boxing circles. Now, don't me wrong. I would have loved to have seen this and several dozen other great hypothetical matchups that never happened due to business decision or politics. But Mosely IMO made the best choice by skipping 140 when he had the opportunity for a super fight.
No, the reason was Oscar De La Hoya, and the subsequent fight that made Mosely rich, vastly increased his popularity and propelled him to the top of P4P ranks. Some of you people go way too far with this "ducking" bull****.
I was mad at Shane for years because he skipped the 140 pound divison and never fought Zoo. I still feel today as I did back the that he would beat Zoo by UD.
Mosley by UD possible stoppage. Mosley bigger, stronger, faster, and a better boxer. That right hand would be devastating the same way Verno philips right hand was.
Kostya outboxes him ... 115-113 Tszyu ... I don't think that Mosley can outbox Tszyu ... when he lost to Phillips and Hatton ... those guys were great pressure fighters and "cool" vince phillips has strength beyond Mosley's. Mosley would try to outbox Tszyu and get beat trying. NO KO's ... just UD
are you kidding me,Phillips has nowhere near the strenght that Mosley has. Tzyu would be an easy target for Mosleys right hand cause of his lack of head movement and that would be the end of him.
No way Kosta outboxes a 140lb Mosley, who at 135 was pure monster. The only fighters who have ever outboxed a prime Mosley were Vernon Forrest and Winky Wright. Boxers who had excellent jabs and defense. Mosley is an excellent pressure fighter in his own right aswell. Much stronger then a Hatton or Philips in his prime.
Mosley stops Tszyu in 8....the pressure Mosley would put on Tszyu would be similar to what Vince Phillips did to Tszyu, only Mosley is better than Phillips....
You arent wrong..classic example as to why steroids are a much better performance enhancer then crack, which was their respective drugs of choice.
I dont know where everyone gets the idea that Mosley is some kind of master technician from. He loves to brawl. I have rarely seen him outbox people but rather he slugs it out with people and being so strong with a great chin he usually wins. Forrest showed that Mosley isnt a slick boxer.
