Which unfortunately goes for a lot of 'world champions' nowadays. Jeez, even Gamboa has a title already.

And now in the present it looks like he's fighting a top-5 welterweight for the 3rd time in 4 fights. Regardless of who he's not fighting, let's give him credit for who he IS fighting. Actually, we should give him credit if he never fights anybody again, the guy punched his way to a first-ballot HOF ticket a while ago and really doesn't have to do anything anymore.

Thank you. Berto is exactly at the point of his career where he should be fighting guys like Mosley. You go from bums, to club fighters (I'm starting to sound like FNR4) to guys with winning records to solid gatekeepers (guys like Rivera, Estrada, collazo, Urango) to the top guys in the division. He's 24 years old and 25-0. Fights like the msly fight are the next logical step.

Disagree. Berto is at the point of his career where he should be fighting the Cintron's, Quintana's, Judah's and Collazo's of the world. He's already fought Collazo once and was pushed to the brink of defeat. He's clearly not ready for a step up against the divison's elite much less a p4p fighter.

he is not scared, but he just knows that its a stylistic nightmare to him, the size, the height, the stance. i dont think mosley should fight him bc he is going to loose. tehre is not a point bc he will physically outmatched.

Berto's title is a technicality. Knowledgeable fans know that his name is absent from any discussion of who's the real ww champ.

There is not such a thing as not ready once you become a champion. If the Boxing organizations do the right thing, the right boxers would be fighting each other. either unification of mandatory against the top challengers. Right now, Mosley should have been in a place where he could choose who to fight at 147lbs. He lost a very competitive fight against Cotto. But then he totally annihilated Cotto's nemesis. He should be able to pick a revenge against Cotto or a fight against Manny. That is, if Manny decides to be a serious welterweight fighter. Mayweather should have been fighting some guy from the top 15 welters if he wanted a tune up. A top 10 would be even better since he claims he still the best. Not saying that he is not. Just that he has to prove it. After the tune up it should be Floyd against whoever is #1 at that time. Either Cotto or Mosley. I don't even count Berto as a top 5. But he is holding a belt

Considering Berto won a vacant title by defeating an unknown fighter, I'd say he offers as the exception. Out of the the 4 mentioned possibilities named for a fight with Mosley, Berto has the least amount of experience with the most questionable resume. The truth is PTP or Clottey are not only more deserving but would offer more legitamcy to the bout considering they both are former titlists who defeated better competition to win their titles and both were forced to vacate.

And if Williams wins, does your boy Mayweather need to fight him too?

SM should definitely fight Paul W. If QUINTANA did it, Im pretty sure Mosley can do it tooo... Plus we all know Mosley is not the one that will succumb so easily to PW's (or anybody else's) power. I say let's go 4 it, the SM that beat Margo will obliterate PW.

You're probably right, but it just means Mayweather has another reason to avoid fighting a true welterweight.
