all this talk of being old and all that...berto was 26 and shane was the favorite..

i smell some haters making excuses now...shane quit throwing cuz he was getting countered everytime he threw..it wasn't all his age..

People who saw the Mosley Collazo fight and the Berto Collazo fight would favour Shane, no?

    P.S. Shane IS ****ing old.

Any version of Mosley would have gotten dominated by Floyd.

Pretty obvious, in my eyes at least.

mosley is old, fought old, and i am still in shock.
i excpected at least 25% of what he had vs margarito....
how many 38 year old welterweights are out there? how many of them in history have been world champs at 38? not many....heavier the weight, age isnt always a killer...IE Hopkins, Foreman, Holyfield....they rely on power and in hopkins case being crafty. Welterweight that is old or gets old...is dead against a guy with speed...especially like a guy like mayweather

For some; a lot, if not most, were pointing out Mosley's win as a case of fighting a limited fighter!

Look man, I am not a mayweather hater nor am I saying that I wasn't impressed with the win (i was very impressed). That being said, yes Floyd is held to a higher standard and he very well should be. He is making $30 million per fight and putting himself in the spotlight and making the claim of being the best fighter of all time in his own words he is better than Ali and better than Robinson.

When you make that kind of money and those kinds of claims the fans have the right to demand only the best opponents from you.

Berto is an up and comer so a tough veteran fighter to test him out is acceptable. Tests are no longer acceptable for Floyd, only the best will do and rightfully so.

Berto is just not very good, that's why Mosley wasn't "old" when they were being matched-up

as much as margo was limited, he still had koed cotto( of course now that win is suspect because of bricks in his gloves before the mosley fight) but the fact is he did something nobody had done to margo before, he knocked him out brutally. so you cant say, oh hes old becuase other then pacquiao, how many fighters would you pick against mosley right now?

Age....reflex....after age of 33 who are the tennis champions who are still in the half finals of finals of the big 4....none...every once in a while an Agussie, Conners or McEnroe, would get into the finals or simi finals of the big four...it was big news.

Pull hitters start hitting the ball into left Center or Center field.

For so long with the shallow tallent pool, the 4 to 5 champs in 85 weight divsions, where it was no longer a single line of contenders battling to be number one and fight the Champion....but some 1/4 or 1/2 champ fighting the number 6 man.....the guy the old time 8 division 15 round Champion of the world fought to keep in shape.
Old fighters fighting other old fighters.

Contenders picking which Champion they wanted to fight....not always the best, but the best one for their style...."Champions coming up a half weight, and picking on who they wanted to fight."
A 32 year old Mayweather is no where as fast as a 22 year old Mayweather. A 32 year old Mayweather might not be as fast as a 22 year old Shane.

The reflexs go after 32 in the fight game....from then in out, speed merchants are avoided, now...
Actually at age 32 reflex has slowed a lot. Man is fastest at age 18, prime at say 22-24, from then out, reflex slows....
Yes a 38 year old man is old...he was old at 36 too.
