First, broke or not, SSM deserves major respect for this...I'd pick SSM over Pac at 147 and even a few pounds or so lighter...but lower than that, I wouldn't 'bet the rent'. I'm sure he's already not having fun making '47 and unless he has some kind of trick up his sleeve (Sugar Ray Robinson at times used I.V. re-hydration after weigh-ins).........making '40 is going to be some kinda task. I'd like to hear comments from the guy here on ESB who worked with Cintron in dropping 20 or so pounds so effectively and fast.
Mosley vs Pacquiao 1. At 147 Mosley ko's pac easily. 2. At 140 Mosley will be sluggish and lose a decision. 3. At 143-144 the fight could go either way.
Mosley is a beast. But his weight is all muscle. He was never a big guy but he use to lift weights alot. He said he stopped lifting before the Vargas fights. I wonder if he's losing some of that extra muscle mass and isn't already lower than his normal walking weight.
I have to agree. Mosely or Cotto will put the Pacman to sleep. It's hard not to believe the hype though after seeing the ODLH and Hatton fights.:bbb
This sets a bad precedent, now that Mosley has agreed to come down to 140 Pac will expect more from other big opponents (Cotto for instance), so if the weight draining has a detrimental effect on Mosley thereby precluding any chance of a Mosley victory, the other big boys will have to accept the 140 curse or forget about Pac; which I personally wouldn't have a major issue with.. if you're a natural welterweight or above who would have trouble coming down then just give Pac no interest and no option but to come up to meet you or he can stay in his own division and fight guys his own size for less money.
Noway Mosley goes any lower than 145. I don't see why people talk about it as though he is more likely to go lower than Cotto, he has fought at 154 and is a big muscular welterweight. Its just scare tactics from Team Pacquiao
after watching what pac did in his last two fights...you cannot favor anyone against him at 140. ssm is a gym rat so he may be able to get down to 140 w/o damn near dying but he wont be the same. you can't go into a fight against pac not being yourself...you will wind up like odlh
If Mosley drains to 140 he will lose. Bank on it, thread starter. I suspect Roach and Pac will take this offer. 140 is just way too low for Shane, but those are the kind of fights Pac's people want for him these days. :roll:

Spot on. Pac could possibly even stop Shane at 140. He will be soooo damn drained that he'll be a shell. But at 147, it's Shane by KO. Everyone knows that. Roach especially.

as long as its not contracted that Mosely has to weigh 147 pounds like in the ODLH fight, I think he's got a chance. I'm trying to figure out if this is a ***** move by Pac if he accepts. But he's being challenged at 140. So I think it offsets it. You got the best 147 pounder pfp fighting you on your own terms and is dropping weight. Take the fight..
