You make a good argument for SSM... If Shane piles up a big lead in the first half with sheer volume and agression (even if he's not landing flush) how is Floyd gonna overcome the deficit? But I still won't pick against Mayweather... Defence wins championships in every sport. Depends how the judges see it... ie. Volume and Agression vs Defence and Accuracy.
this is the only doubt i have in the fight however im sure floyd knows this b/c he always says that your trainer can go in there and fight for you. So hopefully he has something up his sleeve ,either way it should be a great fight. i really want to see mayweather vs pac that would be the only reason why id be upset if mayweather lost.
REALLY? WELL ON THE COUNTDOWN TO MOSLEY COTTO HE SAID HE WOULD COME IN THE BEST SHAPE OF HIS CAREER TOO...:think
I can see Floyd on his bike for 12 rounds, potshoting Moseley till he gets bored and lose. what else do do you all expect?
"This ****'s chess, it aint checkers" Your game plan can't be to simply use your speed or to just keep throwing when facing Floyd. Boxing doesn't work like that, and especially when facing someone who is adept in capitalizing on the punches he makes you miss. The fact is, it's difficult for a fighter to just keep throwing when he just keeps missing and getting hit. Floyd punishes you for throwing punches at him. Floyd does not have one punch KO power, and he isn't particularly a big puncher, but he does punch hard enough to maintain his respect. While the crowd may react to the flurries of his opposition, Floyd knows and the fighter knows that most if not all the punches were ineffective contrary to the single but accurate shots Floyd throws Shane will throw, he will miss, he will be hit.. And like all of the other fighters Floyd has faced, Shane will become demoralized because of this and will eventually throw less frequent. Should Shane prove to be a worthy adversary, I feel he will only bring out the best in Floyd who is just as quick, but also technically/fundamentally superior to him. I'm trying to level with you as well as the many Shane supporters because I want to see a great fight(not saying it wont be) but I just can't see Shane beating Floyd. Shane will not be able to get past Floyd's jab. I see Floyd operating tactically behind his jab and dismantling Shane's offense rather easily and quickly.
Gonna see a different Mayweather here than anyone is anticipating. I can see Mayweather being forced to open up a lot more than he has done in previous fights. Pressure fighters usually bring the best out of Mayweather, I pick Mayweather to win, however I would never write Shane Mosley off and say he has no chance.
I really see Mosley being fired up for this fight and being a different animal to the one that fought Cotto. While I expect Mayweather to win by decision, I would be quite nervous if I was a Mayweather fan or had money on him.
Mosley is a future HOFer and a legit 3 division champ. He has beaten numerous champions and top contenders during his career. He destroyed the consensus top WW in his last outing to collect his WBA strap and is considered by many to be the legitimate WW champ. Mosley has knockout power in both hands, good speed, a great chin, and tremendous heart. He will show up May 1st in great shape. Expect Shane to give it his all. It will be a great fight between two special fighters. Good luck to both men.
Castillio out weighed floyd by 15 pound at the time of the fight and it was close. Floyd adjusted to 135 the second fight and handled it easy.
Boxrec isn't always right BTW. Guzman-Funeka D Whitaker-Chavez D Martinez-Cintron D Morales W 12 Barrera 2000-02-19
Castillo outweighed Floyd by 9 lbs. in both of their fights. Castillo is a damn good fighter, who gave Floyd all he could handle. He's been the only one that was talented enough, and smart enough to execute an effective gameplan against Mayweather. Unfortunately for Castillo, he came up short both times.
The problem is Mosley's output drops when he fights smart defensive fighters. He spends alot of time thinking, and the more he thinks the worse he gets and the more untidy his work becomes. I think there is zero chance of Mosley outworking Floyd for any significant length of time. Mosley is dependant on getting set to throw his punches, while Floyd can throw on the fly. This will be the difference.
I think otherwise. Mayweather will surely take the first stanzas by making Shane think his way thru and stealing the rounds on activity and ring generalship as usual. I see Mayweather losing the battle of attrition at midstage with Shane scoring at will over the top and Floyd answering back with his check hooks and sneaky, light right leads... Down the stretch, it's Shane on the hunt and Floyd holding on to a close margin... Shane wins a decision on strength along with handspeed and skills.
hmmmm, you have certainly not watch mosley is his prime. i know for sure, otherwise you would not say that.
