A big part of Mosley's victory was the holding, it frustrated Margarito and stop a lot of his offensive attacks, while Cotto hit and moved. If Cotto had done the same thing he would have stopped Margarito as well.

i think it was a mental thing to mate
    mentally shane wanted it BAD
rumour was that day jin had told hid she was divorcing him
shane took it out on tony :bbb
i dont think tony was tho not taking anything from shane
he is my fav fighter and i watch this fight quite alot
but in tonys mind he knew he had been caught with the wraps
and win or lose he was deep in the ****
he also allegedly had a problem making weight and to be fair
he did look weak and pale before the 1st round and
did seem fatigued during rounds.........shanes vicious body shots
    didnt help either .ha ha
like i say it was a mental game shane was focused and bang on it !!!
leading up to the fight i was nervous for shane as margo was on a roll
after cotto and shane did show signs of age against mayorga
but i was buzzing watching it and have watched it numerous times
shane has def refreshed his career lets hope the year off hasnt affected him :thumbsup

Thats why its a dangerous fight for Floyd. Floyd cant hurt him and Mosley has enough speed and power to catch Floyd. He isnt a Judah whos gonna break down after taking a few shots and he can actually throw some heavy combinations to finish if he stuns Floyd even once.

Past prime or not, Mosley is bloody dangerous and mad kudos to Floyd for signing it.

    :good i agree mate 100%

the only two fighters who stand/stood a chance of beating floyd are:

mosley - by ko/tko or sd

    forest (rip) - ud

i cant see pac beating floyd he looked to big / slow / bulky
    against cotto
cotto stood right in front of him .....FLOYD WON'T :deal
i would give pac a better chance at floyd at 140
but not at 147 NO WAY

Not taking anything away from a great performance by Mosely ... he was exceptional that night.

But Margarito to me ... looked weak right from the get-go. Not sure if it was wraps, weight, mental, insert-excuse ... but he didn't look the same as his past few fights.

Perhaps all his previous fights caught up with him in a hurry.

Looking forward to Mosely - Mayweather though.

Who wouldnt look weak from the get go when mosley landed a right hand to the body that you could see shake his spine midway through round 1. How would mayweather or pac taken that bodyshot?

Why do you think mosley held margarito? That was part of nazims gameplan. Cotto's trainer is a jackass. Otherwise they woulda made an adjustment during his fight with margarito.

You can disagree all you want. Mosley was fighting with a gameplan on how to breakdown margarito and stop him. Nazim had a perfect gameplan and shane executed it. Nazim also had mosley looking sharp with his punches. He didnt miss or waste that many and he mixed it up real well. He started with the body, then went with fast combinations, and followed it up with a hard one at the end. He used short steps and held on the inside. He was fighting with a plan. Say what you want, mosley looked sharp, but because of nazim. You guys are highly underestimating what a quality trainer can do for a fighter.

That's selling Cotto a little short. I've always had the believe that had Mosley fought Cotto again, Margarito beating or not he would have won and probably KO'd Cotto. But I wouldn't go as far as saying a completely different fighter. Maybe he didn't have a gameplan, but it was also a case of Cotto peaking and Mosley being past prime and not against a plodding Margarito. Not Mosley's best night, that's all imo.

Please explain your philosophys on how mosley isnt a totally diff fighter with nazim richardson? Are you telling me that the mosley that fought margarito didnt look as sharp as ever? That was the best hes looked in years! I think you should go back and rewatch the fight again.

Im not selling cotto short by any means. That was pre cast beaten cotto. Cotto was tough then. I think cotto was a totally diff fighter after the cast beating. I think that takes the luster away from what pac did to cotto. You cant compare Cotto before margachito and cotto after margarrito. I give cotto credit for beating mosley, but nazim wasnt training mosley for that fight. Mosley looks alot sharper and nazim woulda made adjustments in mosleys game throughout the fight.

Wow, Mosley's shoulders looked insane in the Margarito bout. Frame of a hook-machine. Mosley's jabs are terrible, but those hook combos got some impact fo sure.

If anybody wasn't the same as when they went up against Cotto it was Margo. Mosley sharpened up his jab and his clinching game - which was completely shut down by Cotto, and actually worked against Margarito. Couple that with Margarito's lack of hunger, focus, and illegal wraps and you get the domination that happened that night.

Cotto outboxed Mosley and the only reason it was close was because he decided to cruise to a decision win.
