Exactly. This is the "irrational hate" that they spout. If not Mosley then who? They won't answer.

I disagree about the dropping to 140 issue though. He is the cash cow. They should come up to face him. Same as he came up to face ODLH.

Once? I give you a pass, but getting MULTIPLE guys into contracts, violating them by not making weight, then paying them off is not cool. No need to fake a weight you can't make.

It wouldn't change my opinion about the fight... I think Mayweather would win either way.

His second longest lay off was pre-Mayorga.

So there you go, Charles.. you got a damn good point.:deal

If he were younger and more active I would pick Mosley for sure.

    May is soooo smart.

To be fair - May's only fought once since Hatton...2007....

People are making to much of this layoff. Mosley has had a full training camp in the lead up to the berto fight before it's cancellation. This meant he was in good shape already.

Mosley is hit or miss at this point so it doesn't matter. Might even help he's been out. No telling.

Don't kid yourself. Long layoffs like this affect anyone and everyone in the sport. You can't fight once or twice a year and expect to be at your sharpest peak.

That being said, Floyd fights just as infrequently so they're both coming in with the same handicap.

Probably the first real comment i've heard about his lay off, as if it will have no affect. The dude is pushing 40 and is about to fight one of the smartest, sharpest and most skilled fighters in the sport. . . So far Mosley only has a punchers chance but only if he lands enough. We know that aint gonna happen.

That's funny before the Marquez fight people were carrying on like Mosley had more than just a punchers chance to beat floyd. So what happened?

It would help Mosley's claim a little. As it is I pick Mayweather to win a UD. If Mosley fought in November 2009 instead of Jan. 2009 he would be a little more sharp in the later rounds and make it probably a little more competitive.

At Mosley's age I think the layoff has to affect him some. Mayweather hasn't been very active the last couple years so he may not be as sharp either but I think he can handle it better due to his age. Mayweather beats Mosley even if Mosley would have fought 2-3 times in 09 but the layoff has to play in here. But if Mayweather wins he still beat a hall of famer who is rated in the top 5 pfp, its a big win for either guy.

As a fan of Mayweather I want to see him look for the big challenges. Mosley is a great start and if the Pacquaio match can be made then thats the fight he should make. But if he can't get Pacquaio then there are plenty of fights I'd like to see Mayweather make.

Berto, Cotto, or one of the guys from 140 like Bradley or Alexander are good fights and if Mayweather made one of them than those would be good fights but Mayweather is a solid favorite in them. I would like to see him take fights where the odds are more even. If he has to move up in weight than do so.

Why not face Paul Williams or go to 160 and face Martinez or even Pavlik? Those are the kind of challenges I want to see Floyd go after. If he can't face the best at his weight than go find the big fights at a higher weight. There are plenty of big time options for Mayweather if he wants them.I'd put my prefernces for Mayweather to be:

    Pacquaio
    Williams
    Martinez
    Pavlik
    Berto
    Cotto
    Bradley
    Alexander
