Floyd had a big layoff b4 fighting a 142 pounder in JMM. Is he prepared to go 12 rounds with a solid welterweight who has fought for a WBA title 2 times against Cotto and Margarito?
This :thumbsup Im not entirely sure why guys keep bleating about his inactivity when Shane has consistently been proven to be a one of the best conditioned gym rats in boxing.
Cause I dont think anyone really understand what goes on. They figure ok if he hasnt fought in awhile that means hes rusty. Rust isnt going to buildup just because you havent fought in awhile especially when you have hundreds of fights in your am/pro career. You get rusty when you dont train. Before signing for the Berto fight we really dont know for a fact what Mosley was doing but everytime he showed up to a GBP fight he looked in great shape and he said he was still training. Add that into the fact that we KNOW he trained 5-6 weeks for Berto in just December-January theres no possible way hes rusty its all been kicked off months ago. Shane's did it the perfect way he had basically a full camp for Berto but didnt go through all the wear and tear of a actual fight, took about a month off to not burn himself out or over train and then he got back into another camp. Shane Mosley is in great shape anyway you watches his training videos and doesnt see someone who is sharp and diled in are crazy.
I have never seen Shane out of shape. Much like Floyd and BHop he's always in the gym. Shanes conditioning should never be questioned. This is a guy that loves to fight and has always taken his job very seriously. Considering Shanes style its a testament to his great conditioning and professionalism that he's still able to compete at an elite level.
Remember some yt video with Shane standing in front of the camera after a hard work out, completely ripped and obviously already ready for war, and they asked him about his shape and he says: "Im pretty good" Shane is a beast all year around.
