What would it be? He's never been much of a jabber but he's gotta killer right hand which I think will be his biggest asset. At1 said Nazeem told him that their strategy will be to go straight at Floyd which I think will cost Mosley the fight if Nazeem is being serious. Mosley must fight like Pac in this one, using Pac style footwork and angles.
Well since he studied Margarito very well and used the clinch the whole fight to frustrate margarito and eventually win.. Maybe he is smart enough to study mosely and figure something out... We shall see, pulling for mosely.
Mosley is nowhere near as athletic as Pac to even bother trying to fight light Pac. Pac's style won't beat floyd anyway. Mosley's gotta develop something he simply doesn't have.....a jab. The one thing I've seen Mosley in his recent fights..even with Margarito is he's lunging quite a bit. That's going to get his ass pot shotted all night and frustrated because not finding Floyd enough. I expect Mosley to be really aggressive early in the fight. The first 3 to 4 rounds. But unless he can hurt Floyd, he's going to find himself losing a bunch of rounds missing and getting hit with clean shots for the rest of the fight.
I do think his best bet is to go after Floyd. Nasim knows his ****. He can't beat Floyd in a boxing match. He is gonna have to attack more often and throw many right hands. Marquez had the right idea, but, he was not aggressive enough. Mosley has the speed to frustrate Floyd a little bit, so, this should be good.
But everyone goes straight at floyd and they all lose. Something tells me this **** ain't working. Also I think the thing with Marquez was that Floyd had no fear of him. Floyd was more aggresive than usual and so Floyd was coming forward a lot. When Floyd came forward Marquez got his best shots in. When Marquez followed Floyd Marquez got hit.
I always felt like you need to bring the fight 100% to Floyd... The jab means **** to me... He's a pure boxer make him fight.... If he can be forced to go toe to toe everything else fails and iy mano y mano... 1..1..2 all night mix it up
Agression and combination punching. Hopefully he will have a plan so that he doesn't wear himself out.
A good jab can neutralize a good boxer, Funeka vs. Guzman. U got the right idea, though. A hard fast jab with a stiif right hand while using his height did in Guzman. Mosley should try this tactic against Floyd.
The jab is always the first line... Shane can't outbox Floyd... No Way... But he is bigger and stronger.... and in my eyes he lacks the feet but is even wit the hands...Lead as much as you can and draw him in... Floyd is a FIGHTER he will be drawn in if he is getting hit..
right....all i see is offensive strategies..what does he have to do to negate Floyd's strategy? Just a question not mocking anyone. Floyd sets fighters up extremely well especially aggressive fighters. Plus like i said Mosley's reflexes have diminished and Cotto showed us that brilliantly!
Honestly... he's(Mosley) gonna have to eat alot... no bull****... You can't stop that mans(Floyd) accuracy... all you can do is slow it down.... after a few rounds o0f back and forth...
Floyd can't hurt Shane. Knowing this Shane has to become a 3 minutes a round fighter. Offense, offense, offense. If he tries to win with a single punch, you can say goodbye to his chances. Negate Floyd's reach and fight on the inside. Shane will need to train for stamina.
That is just the thing about him, when u lead him in, he pulls out and fights on the back foot. He is gonna box Mosley. He ain't gonna brawl against a guy like Mosley, no fuggin' way. Molsey is gonna chase him all nite long. He will fall into Floyd's trap. Where Guzman made the mistake was stay in the pocket against Funeka. Floyd is not that dumb. I would love to see Mosley prove me wrong. One of Floyd's biggest faults is that he keeps his left hand down too low. With Mosley, he can't do this. Mosley has a hell of a right hand. That's why I think, Floyd will fight on the back foot.
The second this becomes a purely strategic fight, it's over for Shane anyhow. He's got to use intelligent pressure to get inside, mixed in with a body attack that emphasizes his edge in physicality. If he couldn't beat Cotto from the outside, he isn't getting it done against Floyd from distance either. I'll be pulling hard for the Sugarman, but I just don't see him having a varied enough attack to really get Floyd off balance. Can't wait to see what Brother comes up with to try though.
