Shane is one of my all time favs...but he hasnt got what it takes to dismantle cotto not now days sorry he hasnt...

Great win ova vargas in 2nd fights but doesnt mean much Vargas shot his wad trying to get to the weight and Vargas is really a b+ fighter anyway...

and Collozo looked like **** ....bad night for him good win for shane but nothing in these last 2 fights that makes me think he could beat Cotto..

BTW ...yes i am going for shane before you kidz attack me ...but i cant see it happening...too many people here are being blinded by a bit of notstalgia.

there is only one question left to answer about shane and that is will he rise to the challenge like b-hop and dispose of the younger challenger. if he can then he soldifies his status to me as a true atg top 30 for sure I wouldn't argue if someone had him higher.

if he loses then he was good , maybe great, but not legendary.

Well i think hes legendary, undefeated at lightweight, moved up to welter to beat ATG DLH, and has belts in all the divisions hes fought, i love both Cotto and Mosley and dont have a bias here, but i can see Mosley fighting very well for another year or two, so if he beats Cotto the first time i wouldnt fault Cotto for losing to an ATG great, however if there was a re-match i would favor Cotto. However, if Cotto beats him I think it would very close. Bottomline, let me just come clean and say it... I think both Cotto and Mosley can beat Mayweather, but when one of these guys loses, itll just be an excuse for Mayweather not to fight 'em, and i think he knew that fighting Hatton would just eliminate of of these guys outta of the Mayweather sweepstake. Its a shame that the so-called p4p is actually fighting the lesser comp.

Even so, a great fighter shouldnt leave it to boxing fans to decide how good he is, he should prove hes the best without any doubt!

you admit you don't like floyd so your opinion is pretty much garbage. why would floyd need to fight both. there are some serious questions about mosley and cotto. the winner will erase all doubt as to who is superior and who deserves to challenge the p4p best of our generation.

Sorry but I think the claim that May ducked Mosley is just used by his haters. Merchant clearly asked Mosley about Mayweather after the 2nd Vargas fight and Mosley said he had to go to the dentist. Mosley made no attempt to fight Mayweather until after Floyd beat Mosley's boss and retired.

So youre saying Hatton deserves the shot over both Cotto and Mosley, youre bugging dood, both Cotto and Mosley have done more than Hatton to fight Mayweather. Thats a fact.

Shane is one of your all time favs? Join the clubs then...But he has not what it takes to dismantle Cotto(???) - don't tell me Floyd has or that nobody has cause in that case let's bring Nicolay down from 190 plus to compete with these "menacingly strong welter"... No need to apologize, actually you are just sayin what you feel concerning the present moment, tomorrow or Nov 10, yoy may be sayin that Shane always had what it takes anyway.

Yeah, Vargas is a B+ fighter and tryin to make the weight whereas Miguel is a A+ fighter and doesn't need to work out much to get to 147, is that it? Vargas was 26-0, 22 KOs with two losses to Tito and Hoya in thrillers... Cotto is making his 4th welterweight title fight after facing guys such as Carlos Quintana, Oktay Urkal and a guy who was coming off a 1 year suspension, so on what grounds you say Vargas was worse than Cotto is now... BS!

Oh, and let me remind ya that 50% of predictions back in February favored Louie... Did he look like ****? Well, he lost 10 rounds to 2 and coming off a fight wherein he almost caused the upset against the most talked about Ricky Hatton... Is Collazo a bad boxer, let me tell ya that he has better boxing skills than Miguel, wanna bet?

Finally, the only people who are blinded here are the guys who are fighting with el corazon y la alma for all or nothing, they can only see and shout Cotto, Cotto, Cotto... Shane is just in for another of his 13 year pro career contests...

Before the Vargas bouts, nobody was clamoring for Mosley. Before the Urango bout, EVERYBODY was clamoring for Hatton. In fact, before the Judah bout, which most people said was worthless for Cotto, most people still favored Hatton as the logical foe to beat Mayweather. It was only after the Urango bout that the tune changed.

He'll fight them all, because Cotto will recover from the Mosley loss by beating either Paul Williams or Cintron, making the bout with PBF lucrative and in demand again.

    Yes it does.

It shows he still has IT. The speed, the power, the timing, the stamina, the legs, the durability etc

    Good point.

As opposed to Castillo in his bout prior to Hatton, Vargas in the Mosley bouts, Morales in Pacquiao II and Raheem.....

Sometimes you can see the writing on the wall. Mosley still looks good.

I don't think anybody could run for the full twelve from not getting hit at least 1nce to the body. You could run but you can't hide from Cotto. SSM is not a runner. It'll make a beautiful fight. Actually, Shane is quite cagey, he'll employ what he needs to to try and win. He was crafty vs Collazo. He knows how to shut someone down. On the otherhand Cotto aint taking shiznit. Cotto by late KO my friends.

Weird how whenever someone is about to say they think someone will lose it starts out that same way.. So what you mean is, you dont want Shane to win, you dont like him, and hes not one of your all time favorites..

You're completely writing him off, even with his heart and dedication (and untouchable chin, 1 KD right after a headbutt)...You must be a big fan..

I give the fight to shane 7-5, 1-5 Shane, 6-10 Cotto, 11/12 Shane. But who knows, Maybe theres a knockout, maybe Cotto wears Shane out and wins it...
