I'd have to put Chavez in with the top 10 most accurate punchers. I liked your use of the word "surgical," an excellent way of describing Chavez. He was deadly accurate with the bodyshots and right cross. Arguello and Louis are still the top two IMO though.
Archie Moore Joe Louis and Alexis Arguello. top 3 all time. Also Jersey Joe Walcott James Toney and Bernard Hopkins are very accurate punchers. Ya because Marciano didnt connect flush on some of the great ring technicians in boxing history.....right?
Louis was the most acurate...Marciano timed a few beauts from awkward positions, Layne,Walcott and a few vs Moore and Charles....Walcott pinpoint, Duran vs Cuevas and Barkley and Moore and Hearns vs Cuevas,Duran and Shuler...SSR...SSL...Day Boy Green and Andy Price
he really did surgery on meldrick taylor Salvador sanchez was very accurate from the fights I have seen of him What about Juan Manual Marquez and his brother. both My Top 10 from the boxers I have watched are: Alexis Arguello Joe Louis Chavez Napoles Tito Ricardo Lopez ODLH

No definitive answer here in my opinion. Accuracy are fundamental. Here is a massive giant list of the fighters I consider to be especially accurate. It isn't exhaustive. Starting with fighters of whom I have seen no footage that "read" accurate. Ahem. George Dixon Cocoa Kid Jim Driscoll Pete Herman Peter Jackson Jack Britton Holman Williams Jack Dempsey "The Nonpareil" And fighter's i've seen: Oscar De La Hoya Muhammad Ali Yuri Arbachakov Ken Buchanan Esteban De Jesus Roberto Duran Hilario Zapata Pernell Whitaker Jiro Watanabe Floyd Mayweather Ricardo Lopez - Maybe no fighter could get FOUR punches on target as accurately, consistantly, as this man. Maybe. Bernard Hopkins Juan Manuel Marquez Thomas Hearns - Lazer guided Alexis Arguello James J Corbett Marc Antonio Barrera Orlando Canizales James J Braddock - massively underated in this department John Conteh Jersey Joe Walcott Max Schmeling Julio Cesar Chavez Curtis Cokes Evander Hollyfield Salvador Sanchez Wilfredo Gomez Jose Napoles Micheal Watson Ezzard Charles Carlos Monzon Joe Louis Larry Holmes Bob Fitzsimmons Sugar Ray Leonard Sugar Ray Ronbinson Roy Jones Billy Conn Wow. That is really long. Possibly meaningless.
It seems Louis and Arguello are the heavy hitters in this subject, I just got finished looking at the arguello and Mancini fight and at around 1:15 was one of the sharpest combos i seen considering it was the 14th rd. Looked like a uppercut to the body, two left hooks and a straight right all pinpoint at max power.... It's impossible to say, but if I were to make a top 5, I'd go with: #1. Arguello (every punch was picture perfect, leverage, timing, precision, execution, etc. The most skilled puncher I've ever seen) #2. Louis (Same as Arguello, I give Alexis the top spot simply because from what I have seen more of his kayo's were one punch landing perfectly flush, where as Louis put combos together to generally take a man out, although he was precise with all of those shots as well) #3. Lopez (The man was the closest thing to a flawless fighter I've ever seen, he could do absolutely everything, and punching with pinpoint accuracy is no exception) #4. Hearns (as described by McGrain, lazer guided shots) #5. Chavez (as described by natonic, a surgical puncher. Virtually every shot landed cleanly to create the maximum damage) BTW, these are the top 5 I have seen fight.
Yeah, a single short post of a three hundred something year rich sport with thousands and thousands of active participants. IT'S A GOOD LIST DON'T YOU THINK OTHERWISE.
Sick as ****. Jesus. A counterpoint from Ricardo Lopez, jab (more technically correct than lead uppercut) straight right, devastating upper and then a left hook that only misses because his man is already dead. The hook is the most perfect punch and the last to be thrown. [yt]tWSEeLpVxCY[/yt] Around 1.36 is you want to skip ahead.
