And like you said earlier RightCross, Im not looking for the active new pros, just the more established ones that still are fighting consistently (more than 4 times a year). And I agree 100% with watching a augustus on fnf 5 or more times a year, vs 1 really "megafight" (that generally doesnt live up to the hype) once every other year.
This should be narrowed down to most active seasoned pros as prospects will naturally be fighting more often on the way up. They're fighting easy opponents for the most part while being an established contender almost assuredly lowers your fight count per year.
Felix Sturm has fought 3x 2006, 3x 2007, 3x2008 and already 2x 2009. Arthur Abraham has fought 3x 2006, 3x 2007, 3x 2008 and already 2x 2009. What a coincidence Kelly Pavlik has fought 2x 2006, 3x 2007, 3x2008 and only 1x 2009, a bit less so far. Manny Pacquiao has fought 3x 2006, 2x 2007, 3x 2008 and only 1x 2009, that's exactly the same number then Pavlik, but still people seem to have an impression Manny is fighting often and Kelly is not, why this? Tyson Fury has fought 7x in 7 months, that's nice but you can't compare his level of opposition so far, nevertheless he keeps busy that's nice. There are lots of tomato cans who fight each week or twice a month for years, but you can't compare that either, that's not the same... When you look at champs and top 10 fighters, they fight 2-3 times a year everything more then that is quite rare. Even Toney's 80 fights over 20 years are only 4 fights a year at average...
Saul Alvarez is looking promising. He's starting to get big undercard ppv spots, and is at the beggining of holding abc soup belts, but he's still staying pretty active.
If you look at some of those old school guys records, they might fight the same guy a bunch of times within a period of time.
