What was the most anticipated and biggest fight in Europe?

Calzaghe vs. Kessler or Klitschko vs. Haye?

What do you think and say?

I'm not from Europe, but from the outside looking in, I would probably have to say Haye vs. Klitschko was bigger and more anticipated. For one, Haye did a lot to 'promote' this fight with all of the trash talking, the t-shirt, the interviews, etc. There was genuine animosity between the two. On top of that, the fight failed to be negotiated on two or three separate occasions, so there was more time for this fight to build up and grow into a highly-anticipated event.

From what I can remember of Calzaghe-Kessler before the fight, there wasn't nearly as much media coverage or interest from casual boxing fans. Kessler was and is a classy guy that didn't talk much (positively or negatively) and Joe didn't really have the worldwide recognition in boxing circles that guys like Klitschko and (arguably) Haye did at the time of their clash. On top of that, for casual fans, the heavyweight division has always been the one to watch, so Klitschko/Haye beats Calzaghe/Kessler in that arena as well.

As far as the actual fight goes, obviously Calzaghe/Kessler was a much better and much more evenly-matched fight. I remember before the fight thinking Calzaghe/Kessler was much closer to being a 50/50 matchup than Wlad/Haye. I say Wlad/Haye was more highly-anticipated, but Calzaghe/Kessler was far more competitive and better overall.

Klitschko-Haye, but which of those 2 lived up to their potentials, then i have to go for Calzaghe-Kessler

Yeah I say Klitschko vs. Haye too.

I just rewatch Calzaghe vs. Kessler and the HBO crew just made so big a deal out of the fight.

That it was the biggest fight between two European figthers.

I certainly did not hear that when they showed the Klitschko vs. Haye fight.

    Answer has been given.
Calzaghe vs Kessler was a very good fight, I was curious about Kessler vs Hopkins a little while ago, back in 2007.
