He can't read. So that would be a bad idea. Basically Floyd is an ignorant and lost and confused man.
I've seen interviews where Mancini applies to the OPPOSITE of what this thread asks. Not sure what you guys are hearing or if I've just caught a couple bad interviews... I know there was one in particular on ESPN with him some time in the last couple years where he sounded punch drunk something awful (I want to say I think it was before Mayweather/Alvarez and he was asked about that fight in the interview). I was always surprised and impressed by George Foreman in this regard.
He's far from articulate. His English is worse than say Wlad or Vitali's English, and well his Romanian....well, it's Romanian, who really cares about it?
Eubank, Wlad, Ward all speak well. Eubank has, or at least used to, have a tendency of getting words wrong or creating ones that only exist in his mind. Some of these fighters from former Soviet stated sound very articulate when speaking in their native tongue. Golovkin and Kovalev sound much more intelligent and articulate when speaking in their native tongue than they do in English and Dmitry Pirog always struck me as being a smart and articulate cookie when he did too.
Considering the protracted beatings he took from Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatton, Amir Khan and Shawn Porter, I have to say that Paulie Malignaggi is the most articulate boxer of all time. Honorable mentions: George Chuvalo, Marvin Hagler, and Jake LaMotta. Obviously having an iron chin helps you maintain good speech. Of course guys like Ray Leonard and George Foreman speak very well, but they didn't take as many hard punches as the guys I mentioned did. It helped Ray Leonard that he avoided Aaron Pryor, and it helped Foreman that he avoided Earnie Shavers.
