Yeah, from Ukrainian diploma mills....you really think a full time boxer that won an Olympic gold and had won the WBO HW title when he was 24 really had the time to put in the work and research required to EARN a real Ph.D at the age of 25??? Most people that earn a Ph.D have to work at it, full time with no distractions. :deal
Wlad got his PH.D from one of the best universities in the Ukraine. Kiev University is always the top 3 school in the Ukraine, very selective and one of the oldest there as well. It is not impossible to work and get a degree at the same time, I have, many of my family members have done that. Wlad worked his ass off as a professional boxer, and studied hard as well, it is not impossible to do this. Stop being jealous :deal There are 24 hours in a day, it is not possible that Wlad is always partying with his friends or boxing.
George Chuvalo not many heavyweights of his age speak half as well. Barry McGuigan is an excellent boxing commentator
:good He hasn't even got air in said space. He is as thick as a brick. He just acts well (or maybe not).
I'm not jealous, I have a real doctorate, a masters and 2 bachelors degrees and I know first hand the work that goes into earning them. The Klitschko's never published or even released excerpts of their dissertations to the public. No details were released about how long they spent in the program to complete their "degrees", and there is no information about their undergraduate educational backgrounds. You make the point about working and studying in the same time. Yes, it is not impossible; but were talking about a doctorate degree, not an undergrad degree. Also were talking about someone who was boxing in former soviet amateur program, traveling internationally constantly, competing regularly, training, going to the Olympics, then moving to Germany and going pro and in a matter of years (in Germany, not Ukraine mind you) and winning a world title. This isn't someone that merely worked part time to support himself while studying, and he certainly wasn't working as a research assistant like many candidates do. Being a top athlete is demanding enough, and were supposed to believe he had the hours in the day and discipline required to complete a doctorate program (in Kiev, while he was based in Hamburg), conduct research, and write and revise a complete dissertation also on top of his boxing career? I certainly don't buy it. I find it suspicious also that despite a 5 year difference in age, Vitali and Wlad both were awarded PhD's within a year of each other, and just after they had won the WBO belt. I think these degrees are actually honorary based on their athletic achievements, which is fine for their marketing image, but I seriously doubt they are real PhD's, and should not be claimed as such. Even if they are legtiimate, what contributions have they made to science since earning them? Who earn's a PhD with the intention on never using it for anything?
